Walking with God and listening to his prophetsWalking with God and listening to his prophets

God called Samuel as a child and Jeremiah from his mother’s womb to be his prophets. Your age does not really matter to God when He wants you in his service. He tells you what to say or do for him. He puts his word in your mouth. According to Amos 3:7, “Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.

God speaks to his servants through dreams, visions, direct conversation with them, and the Holy Spirit guides them to put it in their own words. But in some cases God speaks to them directly like face to face in voices and sometimes it is a two-way talk, like in the case of Moses in the wilderness; or Paul on the way to Damascus. Also the scriptures are the word of God revealed to the prophets, like Isaiah 9:6 that came to pass after hundreds of years. God’s word must come to pass, that is why the scriptures said, heaven and earth shall pass away but not my word; Jesus Christ said that in (Luke 21:33).

God does nothing on earth unless he revealeth it to his servants the prophets. Study Amos 3:7; Jeremiah 25:11-12 and Jeremiah 38:20. The word of God reveals the plan of God for each of us. It is only through Christ that we can transform our minds to have a good relationship with God and know his plans, revealed to us by the scriptures given to his servants the prophets. His will is revealed in the word which is the only and sufficient supreme authority for every believer, (2nd Tim. 3:15-17). There is a way to live under a prophetic anointing. Joshua and Caleb did it under Moses. They believed the word of God by the prophet. What God reveals to us, is in his word. That is why Psalm 138:2, states, “God magnified his word above all his names.” He gave his word to his servants the prophets.

Remember Daniel the prophet of God, greatly beloved of the Lord, (Dan. 9:23). He was a boy of 10 to 14 years when they were carried away to Babylon for the captivity. While in Judea in the days of Jeremiah the prophet he heard about the prophecy of going into captivity to Babylon, for seventy years. How many of us of similar age and circumstances would pay close attention or even remember such words of prophecy. Many people in Judea did not come out to support the prophet Jeremiah when he proclaimed to them the true word of God.  About two years after Jeremiah’s prophecy, (Jeremiah 25:11-12). Then came the events that ended in Judea being carried away to Babylon for the seventy years of captivity.

Today the prophecies of the prophets and that of Jesus Christ himself tell us about the translation, the great tribulation and much more. But not many are paying any attention. But the youth Daniel in captivity, refused the king of Babylon’s food, saying he would not defile himself. A youth who knew God. Jeremiah did not go with them into captivity. Daniel the youth kept the words of God by the prophet Jeremiah in his heart and prayed and pondered over it for over 60 years. He did not allow the favors of the kings of Babylon to sway him. He prayed three times a day facing towards Jerusalem. He did exploits in Babylon and the Lord visited him. He saw the Ancient of days, (Dan 7:9-14) and also saw one like the Son of man come with the clouds of heaven and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him. He saw Gabriel and heard about Michael and saw the kingdoms, up to the white throne judgment. He was really beloved. He saw also the beast or anti-Christ. He was given the gift of dreams and interpretations. Yet, Daniel in all of these blessings and positions he attained kept his calendar and was marking off the years of captivity.

Daniel did not forget the word of God by Jeremiah about seventy years in Babylon. Over 50-60 years in Babylon he did not forget the book of prophecy of Jeremiah, (Dan. 9:1-3). Today many have forgotten the prophecies concerning the translation and the coming great tribulation, prophecies of the Lord and the prophets. Paul in 1st Cor. 15:51-58 and 1st Thess. 4: 13-18 reminded all believers about the coming translation. John enlarged the true situation facing the world by the prophecies of the book of Revelation. Daniel a prophet in his own right knew how to follow a prophet. You are not following the man prophet but the word of God given to the prophet. The man may depart this world like Jeremiah departed but Daniel saw the word of God come to pass. Because he believed the word of the prophet, when it was getting close to seventy years he started to seek God in confession of the sins of the people including himself in the sins. He knew how to believe the word of God by the prophet.  How are you believing the words of God by the prophets that are about to fulfill? Daniel for over sixty year was waiting for the going back of the Jews to Jerusalem. He knew how to believe the word of God by a prophet. He looked forward to their fulfillment. Like the soon to occur translation of the elect.

For Daniel or any believer to attain victory or success in the journey to heaven one must know these three different natures that are at play. The nature of man, the nature of Satan and the nature of God.

The nature of man.

Man needs to understand that he is flesh, weak and easily manipulated by the motions of sin, with the help of the devil. Men loved to see and follow Jesus Christ while he was on earth. They praised and worshiped him but he had a different testimony of man, as in John 2:24-25, “But Jesus did not commit himself unto them, because he knew all men. And needed not that any should testify of man; for he knew what was in man.” This makes you understand that man had problems, since the Garden of Eden. Look at the works of darkness and the works of the flesh and you will see that man is a servant of sin; except for God’s grace. Paul said in Rom. 7:15-24, “—– For I know that in me (that is in my flesh) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not. —- For I delight in the law of God after the inward man: But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. O wretched man that I am, who shall deliver me from the body of this death? I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God: but with the flesh the law of sin.” So this is the nature of man and he needs spiritual help from God and that was why God came in the form of man Jesus Christ, to give man the chance for a new nature.

The nature of Satan.

You need to know the nature of Satan in every way possible. He is but a man, (Ezek. 28:1-3). He was created by God and he is no God. He is not omnipresent, omniscient, omnipotent or omnibenevolent. He is the accuser of the brethren, (Rev. 12:10). He is the author of doubt, unbelief, confusion, sickness, sin and death). But John 10:10, tells you all about Satan by the one who created him, “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. Study all of John 10:1-18, sickness. He is the father of lies, a murderer from the beginning and there is no truth in him, (John 8:44). He roams about as a roaring lion, (1st Peter 5:8), but is not the real lion; the Lion of the tribe of Judah, (Rev. 5:5). He is a fallen angel whose end is the lake of fire, (Rev. 20:10), after going to jail in chains, in the bottomless pit, for one thousand years. Finally, it is not in his nature to be remorseful, or ask for forgiveness. He can never repent and mercy is gone away from him. He delights in reducing other men to the level of his injured reputation through sin. He is a hireling. He is the thief of the soul. His weapons include, fear, doubt, discouragement, procrastination, unbelief and all works of the flesh as in Gal. 5:19-21; Rom. 1:18-32. He is the god of the world and its worldliness, (2nd Cor. 4:4).

The nature of God.

For God is love, (1st John 4:8): So much, that He gave his only begotten Son to die for man, (John 3:16). He took the form of man and died to reconcile man back to himself, (Col. 1:12-20). He gave and died for man as to marry a true bride. He is the good Shepherd. He forgives confessed sin, because it is his blood that he shed on Calvary’s Cross that washes away sins. He only has and gives eternal life. He is omnipresent, omniscient, omnipotent and omnibenevolent and much more. He only can and will destroy Satan and all who follow Satan against the word of God. He alone is God, Jesus Christ and there is no other, (Isaiah 44:6-8). Isaiah 1:18, “Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red as crimson, they shall be as wool.” This is God, love, peace, gentleness, mercy, temperance, kindness and all the fruit of the Spirit, (Gal.5:22-23). Study all of John 10:1-18.

God’s love was part of his word to the church ages, admonishing them to line up with his plan and purpose; and also for them to flee from sin. To the church of Laodiceans, which represents the church age of today, in Rev. 3: 16-18, “they were lukewarm and claimed to be rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked”. This is the true picture of Christendom today. But in His mercy He said in verse 18, “I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eye salve, that thou mayest see.”

Buy gold means, get the character of Christ in you through faith, by the manifestation of the fruit of the Spirit in your life, (Gal. 5:22-23). You get this through salvation by faith, (Mark 16:5). Also through your Christian work and maturity, as written in 2nd Peter 1:2-11. This will help you buy gold which is the character of Christ in you, through test, trials, temptations and persecutions. This gives you value or character through faith, (1st Peter 1:7). It calls for obedience and submission to every word of God.

White raiment means, (righteousness, through salvation); it only comes from Jesus Christ. Through your acknowledging and confessing your sins, so that they are washed away. You become a new creation of God, through the gift of eternal life. Rom 13:14 reads, “But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh to fulfill the lusts thereof.” This bestows virtue to you or righteousness, (Rev. 19:8).

Eye salve means, (sight or vision, enlightenment by the Word through the Holy Spirit) that you may see. One of the easiest ways to buy eye salve to anoint your eyes is to listen and believe the word of God by his true prophets, (1st John 2:27). You need the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Study Heb. 6:4, Eph.1:18, Psalms 19:8. Also , “ Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path,” (Psalms 119:105).

Now the choice is yours, listen to the word of God by his prophets. Remember Rev. 19::10, “For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.” A true testimony to Jesus means obedience to his commands and faithfulness to his teachings and his word by the prophets. To obey God’s command, (Rev. 12:17) is the equivalent of holding to the testimony of Jesus. “Tarry in Jerusalem until you are endued with power,” (Luke 24:49 and Acts 1:4-8). The disciples, including Mary the mother of Jesus, obeyed the command and it was equivalent of holding to the testimony of Jesus. It was prophetic and came to pass.  John 14:1-3, “I go to prepare a place for you (personal). And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.” This was prophecy by Jesus the Christ. And He said, in Luke 21:29-36, “Watch ye therefore and pray always, that ye may be counted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.” This would fulfill John 14: 1-3. And elaborated by Paul, in 1st Thess. 4:13-18 and 1st Cor. 15: 51-58; this is the translation. All who listen and obey these prophecies, show obedience to God’s commands and faithfulness to his teaching. And is the equivalent of holding to the testimony of Jesus Christ; else the door of Matt. 25:10 will be shut on you and you have been left behind. Great tribulation which is also word of prophecy will come to pass. Learn to walk with the Lord God by listening to the word of God by his servants the prophets. This is wisdom. Can you not see signs of the last days all over us, these are the words of God by the prophets. Who will listen to the word of God by his prophets? Study Rev. 22:6-9, and you will see that God confirmed that the prophets were speaking his words of prophecy to the people. Learn to know how to listen and obey the word of God by his servants the prophets.
