Herbs are small plants that have a fleshy or juicy stem when they are young. The stems of some herbs develop hard, woody tissue when they grow old. Most herbs are perennials. This means that the tops of some of the plants die each growing season, but the roots remain alive and produce new plants year after year. Herbs are plants with leaves, flowers and seeds used for food, and medicine. Any plant used as a medicine, seasoning, or flavoring such as mint, thyme, basil, and sage are herbs. An example of an herb is basil, mint, used to soothe an upset stomach. Examples of herbs include cinnamon, sage, turmeric, peppermint, parsley, ginger, garlic, cayenne pepper, rosemary, dandelion, stinging nettle, coriander, chives and much more. It is good to eat herbs regularly but moderately. Here we will consider a few of the herbs.

Turmeric

Turmeric contains curcumin an antioxidant that also helps in reducing the risk of heart disease, arthritis and cancer. The most powerful herb/spice in the world is Turmeric. It is also the strongest anti-inflammatory herb. It helps fight depression and cancer. It also as an antiseptic.

Rosemary

It is good for heart health, and helps prevent damages to blood vessels and aids in cardiovascular health. It helps in the issue of indigestion. It helps in cancer control.

Cinnamon

It is an herb that lowers blood sugar and has antidiabetic effects; and has a potent antioxidant function that helps fight inflammation. It slows the breakdown of carbohydrates in the digestive tract and improving insulin sensitivity. It also lowers cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood.

Dandelion

It is good for digestion and acts as a natural mild diuretic and helpful in treating poor digestion. Also it is good for liver disorders and high blood pressure (hypertension).

Coriander

This herb helps lower LDL cholesterol and increase HDL cholesterol. It has antibacterial and antifungal properties.

Chives

This herb protects against cancer. It is rich in vitamins A and C, which are antioxidants, and reduces gastric cancer. It is best to add it salad when possible.
