Look unto the rock whence ye are hewn
Thus saith the Lord in Isaiah 51:1-2, “Hearken to me, ye that follow after righteousness, ye that seek the Lord: look unto the rock whence ye are hewn, and to the hole of the pit whence ye are digged. Look unto Abraham your father, and unto Sarah that bare you: for I called him alone, and blessed him, and increased him.” There is no alternative to putting your confidence in the Lord Jesus Christ. The world is changing before our eyes and God is still in total control. The man of sin is gathering his men and those that will do his bidden. The Lord has his angels separating the peoples of the world based on your relationship with the Lord. Your relationship with the Lord is based on your responses to the word of God. You can only manifest what you are made up of. Look unto the Rock from which you were hewn.
Many of us have come out or hewn out of this Rock, this rock is not smooth, but when the Lord finishes with each hewn piece of rock it will come out shinning as a pearl. This Rock according to Isaiah 53:2-12 tells the whole story; “For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: He hath neither form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised and we esteemed him not. Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions; he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. ——, Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him, he hath put him to grief: when thou shall make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure (salvation of the lost) of the Lord shall prosper in his hand (the true blood washed church).”
Now you have a picture of the rock or hole from which you were hewn or dug. That Rock followed them in the wilderness, (1st Corinth. 10:4). See if you are part of that Rock or are you a piece of dirt or earth attached to the rock. We do not look to ourselves, but we look unto the Rock from which we were hewn. That Rock grew as a tender plant (baby Jesus) and as a root out of a dry ground (world dried up by sin and godlessness). He was tortured and beaten that he hath no form or comeliness, and there was no beauty that he should be desired (even among those he fed, healed, delivered and spent time with). He was rejected of men (as they shouted crucify him, crucify him, Luke 23:21-33). A man of sorrows, acquainted with grief, wounded for our transgressions, bruised for our iniquities, by his stripes we are healed, (all these were accomplished at the Cross of Calvary). Now you know the Rock that followed them in the wilderness, without form or comeliness, rejected of men, bruised for our iniquities: That Rock is Christ Jesus; the ancient of days.
The only way to be hewn out of this Rock is by salvation; “For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation,” (Rom. 10:10). The Rock or Stone grew to a mountain (Dan. 2:34-45) that covers the whole world, of every tongue and nation. The stone was cut out of the mountain without hands. This “stone” of salvation brings forth lively-stones, (1st Peter 2: 4-10); “To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God , and precious, Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices , acceptable to God by Jesus Christ. Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Zion a chief corner stone, elect, and precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded. Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner, And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offense, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: where unto also they were appointed.” Even satan was appointed to this disobedience: he stumbled at the word, being disobedient because he and all that follow him were never hewn out of the same Rock that is Christ. We the true believers look unto Jesus Christ, the Rock from which we were hewn. Remember vessels of and unto honor and those of and unto dishonor. Obedience to the word, the Lord Jesus Christ is the difference.
If you were hewn out of the Rock that is Christ; then look unto the Rock, “ For ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should show forth the praises of him who hath called you out darkness (the hole from which ye were dug) into his marvelous light,” (1st Peter 2:9). Look unto the Rock from which you were hewn and the hole from which you were dug. It is late and night cometh. Soon the sun will rise and the hewn stones will shine by the translation, at the coming of Jesus Christ. We shall see him as he is and shall be changed into his likeness as vessels of honor. You must repent, be converted and work the works of Christ to shine at his coming. It is the presence of Christ in the true believer that shines through them. Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb, are your garments spotless, are they white as snow? Look unto the Rock that is higher than you and from which ye were hewn. Time is short; soon time shall be no more. Are you ready for Jesus now?
