He went out to sow the good seedHe went out to sow the good seed

The parable of the Sower as told by Jesus Christ; involves the four different possibilities confronting man’s relationship with the word of God. The word is the seed and men’s heart represent the soil on which the seed falls on. The type of heart and the preparation of the soil determine the outcome when the seed falls on each.
Jesus is not man to tell stories that have no meanings. Every statement that Jesus made was prophetic, so is this chapter of scriptures. You and I are part of this scripture, and a sincere heart with prayerful search will show you what kind of ground you are and what your future may be. This parable by the Lord was a summary of mankind and their relationship with the Word of God. The bible says, break up your fallow ground while there is still time. The parable spoke about four kinds of ground. These different kinds of soil determine the outcome of the seed; whether the seed will survive, bear fruit or not. The expected outcome of planting a seed is to have a harvest, (Luke 8:5-18).
This is the most important parable according to Our Lord Jesus Christ. Mark 4:13 reads, “know ye not this parable? And how then will ye know all parables?” If you are a believer and have not taken the time to study this scripture, you may be taking chances. The Lord demands and expects you to know this parable. The apostles asked Jesus Christ about the meaning of the parable; and in Luke 8:10 Jesus said, “Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God, but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand.” There went out a Sower to sow seed, and as he sowed, the seed fell on four different grounds. The seed is the word of God:

As he sowed some fell by the way side, and the fowls of the air devoured them up. Remember when you and others first heard about the word of God. How many people were there, how they acted and were touched; but few days later mocked or joked or forgot about what they heard. The bible said when they have heard the word, Satan cometh immediately, and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts. Some people you may know are like those that received the word but the devil came with all kinds of confusion, persuasion and deception and stole the word they heard. This group of people heard the word, it got into their heart but immediately Satan came to steal, kill and destroy. Whenever you hear the word of God, guard the door of your heart, and do not hang between two opinions, accept the word or reject it. This will link you to your eternal abode; heaven and hell are real and Jesus Christ the Lord preached so.
As he sowed, some fell on stony ground where the soil was not much, and they immediately sprang up because the soil was small. When the sun was up, it was scorched; and because it had no root it withered away.
People that fall into this group have an unpleasant work with the Lord. The joy of salvation in their heart does not last long. When they hear the word of God they receive it with great joy and zeal but they have no root in themselves, not anchored in the Lord. They endure for a while, enjoy, praise and worship, afterward; when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word’s sake, immediately they are offended. Hardship, ridicule and lack of fellowship can cause a person on the stony ground to wither and fall away, but remember Satan is behind it. If you feel right now, you are on the stony ground, cry out to God while it is called today.
Some seeds fell among thorns and the thorns grew up, and choked them, and it yielded no fruit. Mark 4:19 explains the issue of those that fell among thorns. These thorns come in many forms; the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things (struggle to accumulate wealth, often ending in covetousness which the bible describes as idolatry, immorality, drunkenness, and all works of the flesh, (Gal. 5:19-21); entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful. When you see those that fell among the thorns, it is terrifying and burdensome. Remember that when a person backslides, very often the works of the flesh are present and the person has been overrun by Satan. A person who is distracted by the cares of this life is definitely among the thorns. He is full of the word but detoured by the devil. When a person is choked up by thorns, there is often discouragement, doubt, deception, hopelessness, immorality and lies.
Some seeds fell on good ground, and these are they that hear the word, and receive it, and bring forth fruit. Some thirtyfold, some sixty and some one hundred fold. The bible states, in Luke 8:15, that those people on good ground are they which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it and bring forth fruit with patience. They are honest (these people are sincere, faithful, just, true, pure, and lovely, (Phil. 4:8).They have a good heart and try to stay away from all appearances of evil; they pursue good not evil, hospitable, kind and full of mercy and compassion. Having heard the word, keep it, (staying faithful to the word they heard, believing the meaning of the word they heard, knowing whose word they heard, holding fast to the word and the promises of the Lord.) King David said, “Thy word have I kept in my heart, that I might not sin against thee.”

Then the bible continues by saying, “and brought forth fruit with patience.” When you hear of the good ground, certain qualities are involved, that make the soil rich for the seed to bear fruit. Job said, in Job 13:15-16, “Though he slay me yet will I trust in him.” A good soil contains minerals good for the seed and plant; so also the fruits of the spirit in Gal. 5:22-23 manifests in anyone who hears the word of God and keeps it. Study 2nd Peter 1:3-14, you will find things necessary for you to bear fruit. Tares are not allowed to choke up the seed on the good ground. Weeds thrive on the works of the flesh.
Bringing forth fruit with patience has to do with the good soil, because there is expectation for good crop and harvest. The seed will be tested, days of low moisture, high winds etc which are all trials, tests and temptations a true seed on the good soil goes through. Remember James 5:7-11, even the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth. Every child of God must be patient until he receives the early and the latter rain. You must continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven, according to Col. 1:23.
As we humans pass through this earth, it is important to know that the earth is a filtering and separating ground. The way we handle the seed (the word of God) and the way we keep our heart (the soil) will determine if one ends up as the seed on the way side, stony ground, among thorns or on the good soil. In some cases people fall among thorns, then struggle to overcome, some make it out but some do not. Very often those that make it out from among the thorns receive help through prayers, intercession and even physical intervention from those on the good ground by the goodness of the Lord.

For all people, whenever you hear the word of God receive it, and do so with joy. Keep an honest and good heart. Avoid the cares of this life because they very often choke the life out of you; worse of all it makes you to be in friendship with the world and an enemy of Christ Jesus. If you are still alive, examine your life and if you are on a bad soil, take action and change your soil and destiny. The best, surest and shortest way is to anchor your life, by accepting the word of God, which is Christ Jesus the Lord, Amen. If you do not know this parable how can you know other parables saith the Lord himself. Those of the roadside, when satan steals the word you are lost without Jesus Christ the word seed. Satan steals the word by bringing doubt, fear and unbelief into you. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.
