A QUIET MOMENT WITH GOD

LOVING THE LORD IS SIMPLE. HOWEVER, SOMETIMES WE CAN STRUGGLE WITH READING AND UNDERSTANDING GOD’S MESSAGE TO US. THIS BIBLE PLAN IS DESIGNED TO BE A DAILY GUIDE THROUGH GOD’S WORD, HIS PROMISES AND HIS DESIRES FOR OUR FUTURE, BOTH ON EARTH AND IN HEAVEN, AS TRUE BELIEVERS, Study – (Psalm 119:105).

WEEK 6

He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; But he that believeth not shall be damned. Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost (Acts 2:38), if you ask him, (Luke 11:13).

Jesus Christ and baptism Mark 16:14-18.

Remember the song, “Baptized into the body.”

Baptism is the next step after being born again. Baptism is dying with Jesus as you go under the water as in the grave and coming out of the water as Jesus rising from death and out of the grave, all stand for death and resurrection. Your salvation or your accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior after acknowledging you are a sinner, makes you eligible for the next step of your new relationship with your Lord; which is water baptism by immersion.

Remember the eunuch of Ethiopia, study Acts 8:26-40.

Acts 2:36-40 When the truth of the gospel is shared with the unsaved with all sincerity, the sinner is often convicted. I sinner who is concerned and convicted will often ask for help.

Alway point them to the Cross of Calvary where the price for sin was paid.

Jesus Christ said in Rev.22:17 “ Whoever will, let him come take the water of life freely.” As you can see Jesus welcomes all who will repent and be converted to come and take of the water of life that begins with your salvation. What is holding you back, tomorrow may be too late.

Acts 19:5, “When they heard this they were baptized in the NAME of the Lord JESUS.”

Mark 16:16, “He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.”

Rom. 6:1, “What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?”

The command for Baptism Matt. 28:18-20

Remember the song, “Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb.”

Baptism was first done by John the baptist. He baptized people who believed in his call for repentance. In John 1:26-34, he said, “I baptize with water,– –but upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost. And I saw and bare record that this is the Son of God.”

So you see how baptism by water and the Holy Ghost came into the New Testament dispensation. And Jesus Christ commanded it be done to all who believe in him by work of repentance/ salvation.

Matt 3:11

1st Peter 3:18-21

Jesus Christ commanded his disciples to go preach the gospel to all creatures; he who believes and is baptized shall be saved. Baptizing them in the NAME, not names, of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost. The name is the Lord Jesus Christ, like Peter commanded and Paul during baptism they did. Peter baptized with the other apostles in the days they were with Jesus; so they knew and were guided in the right way and name to use. These men have been with Jesus, (Acts 4:13). Matt. 28:18, “All power is given unto me in heaven and on earth.”

Acts 10:44, “While Peter spoke these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the Word.”

Baptism Rom. 6:1-11

Col. 2:11-12

Remember the song, “I feel like traveling on.”

Jesus Christ was baptized by John the Baptist, the apostles of Jesus baptized the people but not Jesus himself doing it. So the disciple later called apostles did the baptism (John 4:1-2). This shows they were well instructed about how and in what name to baptize. In Matt.28:19; they understood what name to baptize in because they had done it before and Peter spoke and commanded Cornelius and his household to be baptized in the NAME of the Lord, (Jesus Christ is the Lord).

Be sure you are baptized the right way.

Eph. 4:1-6

Psalm 139:14-24

Baptism means immerse. As one repents and believes in Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of their sin, they show and outward obedience by getting immersed in water before witnesses. It symbolizes one’s obedience to the commandment of Christ for salvation; and helps you declare your new faith boldly and before your brethren in the new family of God by and through Jesus Christ alone. So be sure you are baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. The name of authority and not in titles of Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Eph. 4:5-6, “One Lord, One faith, One baptism,One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all and in you all.”

Rom. 6:11

”Likewise reckon ye also your self to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

Baptism of the Holy Ghost John 1:29-34

Acts 10:34-46

Remember the song, “ Great is thy faithfulness.”

Jesus Christ the Lord said in Acts 1:5, “For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.” Verse 8, “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”

The Holy Ghost baptism is an empowering experience, arming or equipping true and sincere believers for witnessing and service in the work of the Lord.

Acts 19:1-6

Luke 1:39-45

Very important miracle of the Holy Ghost baptism. Jesus Christ is the only one who baptizes with the Holy Ghost even from Mary’s womb. John in the womb recognized Jesus in Mary’s womb and leaped for joy and the anointing got to Elizabeth. She called Jesus Lord, by the Spirit.

Jesus Christ according to John the Baptist is the only one that baptizes with the Holy Ghost. Jesus can give it anywhere to those with a desirous heart and believe his word. But you must also ask the Lord for it, with desire and believe in his word.

As soon as you repent and believe the gospel, seek water baptism, and begin to pray and ask God for the baptism of the Holy Ghost in Jesus Christ name because He is the only one who can baptize in the Holy Ghost. You cannot get it praying in the name of the Father, the name of the Son and in the name of the Holy Ghost. Only in the name of Jesus Christ. God can give it to you before or after water baptism.

Luke 11:13, “If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?”

Ask yourself if Jesus Christ died for you, and He is the only One who has power to baptize a believer in the Holy Ghost and fire through his name Jesus Christ, then why do water baptism in Father, Son and Holy Ghost which are titles and common nouns; instead of the real name Jesus Christ? Be sure you are baptized correctly in Jesus Christ NAME.

The Godhead Colossians 2:1-10

Rom.1;20

Psalm 90:1-12

Rev. 1:8

Remember the song, “How great thou art.”

The scripture says, For by him (Jesus Christ) were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him (The Creator, God) and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. (Col. 1:16-17).

Isaiah 45:7; “Hast thou not known? Hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? There is no searching for his understanding,”(Isaiah 40:28.

Col. 1:19

Jer. 32:27

Psalm 147:4-5

In Genesis 1 and 2; we saw God creating; and we know that the scriptures cannot be broken, and so the same God confirmed his words by the prophets. Such as Jeremiah 10:10-13. Also Col. 1:15-17

Study Rev. 4:8-11, “And the four beasts who are around the throne of God Almighty; and they rest not day and night, saying Holy, holy, holy Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.”– Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.” Who is the creator but Jesus Christ. Which God Almighty was, and is, and is to come but Jesus Christ? There cannot be two God Almightys?

Col. 2:9, “For in him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily.”

Rev. 1:8 “I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending.”

Rev. 1:18, “I am he that liveth, and was dead; and behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and death.”

The Godhead 1st Tim.3:16

Rev. 1:18

John 10:30

John 14:8-10.

Remember the song, “Just a closer walk with thee.”

Godhead is divinity, immortal, creator. In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth, (Gen.1:1).

“Thus saith the Lord, I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God,” (Isa.44:6, 8); Isa. 45:5; 15.

Jesus said in John 4:24, “God is a Spirit.” John 5:43, “I am come in my Father’s name.”

John 1: 1 and 12,”In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God, and the Word became flesh, (Jesus).

Acts 17:27-29

Deut. 6:4

Rev. 22: 6, 16.

The talk of three persons in one God (Trinity) makes God a monster. How do three personalities operate without consensus? Under what conditions does one appeal to Father, or to the Son or to the Holy Ghost since they are three persons and have three different personilities. There is only One God, manifesting himself in three offices. To cast out demons, to, to be baptized, to be saved, to receive the Holy Ghost and to be translated or resurrected are all in the name of Jesus Christ. 1st Tim. 6:15-16, “Which in his times he shall show, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords:”

“Who only hath immortality dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto: whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honor and power everlasting amen.”

Rev 2:7, “ He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit (Jesus) saith unto the churches.”

The joy of Witnessing John 4:5-42

Luke 8:38-39

Acts 16:23-34

Remember these songs, “ Bringing in the sheaves.”

“Let’s talk about Jesus.”

There is joy in heaven over one sinner that is saved and angels rejoice.

Acts 26:22-24, Paul witnessed a good confession of Jesus Christ and the gospel many times and in many ways. Anytime he was making his defense on any issue of his persecutions, he used the opportunity and circumstance to witness to the people and gained some to Christ.

Acts 3:1-26

Acts 14:1-12.

Luke 15: 4-7

All the apostles were busy witnessing for Christ, bringing the gospel to multitudes and many gave their lives to Christ. They were not ashamed of the gospel and gave their lives for it. In two years they covered Asia Minor with the gospel, without technology or transport systems of today; and they had enduring results as the Lord was with them confirming their words with signs and wonders following, ( Mark 16:20). Acts 3:19, “Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.”

John 4:24, “God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.”
