A QUIET MOMENT WITH GOD
LOVING THE LORD IS SIMPLE. HOWEVER, SOMETIMES WE CAN STRUGGLE WITH READING AND UNDERSTANDING GOD’S MESSAGE TO US. THIS BIBLE PLAN IS DESIGNED TO BE A DAILY GUIDE THROUGH GOD’S WORD, HIS PROMISES AND HIS DESIRES FOR OUR FUTURE, BOTH ON EARTH AND IN HEAVEN, AS TRUE BELIEVERS, Study – (Psalm 119:105).
WEEK # 5
COMPONENTS OF PRAYER OF FAITH
According to Hebrews 11:6, “But without faith it is impossible to please him (God): for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” There are certain elements to consider when seeking God in prayer of faith, not just any type of prayer. Every true believer should make prayer and faith a business with God. A consistent prayer life is absolutely indispensable, for a victorious life.
Day 1
The wrestler strips before he enters upon the contest, and confession does the like for the man who is about to plead with God. A racer on the plains of prayer cannot hope to win, unless by confession, repentance, and faith, he lays aside every weight of sin. Faith to be valid must be anchored on God’s promises. Philippians 4:6-7, “Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

Elements of prayer of faith, Confession.
Remember the song, “Where could I go.” |
James 1:12-25
Psalm 51:1-12 |
Before your time of prayer, endeavor to make all the confessing you need to do; for your sins, shortcomings and errors. Come to God in humility, for he is in heaven and thou art on earth.
Always confess and repent of your sins before the devils get before the throne to accuse you. |
1st John 3:1-24.
Daniel 9:3-10, 14-19. |
Know that Jesus Christ is the Word of God and nothing is hidden from him. Hebrews 4:12-13, “and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.” | Daniel 9:9, “To the Lord our God belongs mercy and forgiveness, though we have rebelled against him.”
Psalm 51:11, “Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy Holy Spirit from me.” |
Day 2
A regular and systematic time of prayer is the first secret and step to God’s wonderful rewards. Positive and prevailing prayer can change things around you. It will help you see the good parts in people and not always the awful or negative parts.

Elements of prayer of faith,
Worship God. Remember the song, “All hail Jesus name.” |
Psalm 23: 1-6
Isaiah 25:1 Isaiah 43:21 |
It is important to honor and show reverence to God with adoration, devotion, and worship. This is a form of love toward the Lord and you do not question him or doubt his word or judgments. Acknowledge him as God Almighty Creator and the answer to sin by the blood of Jesus Christ.
Worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness |
John 4:19-26
Psalm 16:1-11 |
But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: For the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and truth.
As you can see worship is a spiritual thing and not an outward show. Because God is a Spirit, to contact him you must come to worship, in spirit and in truth. Truth because God is true and there is no falseness in him and therefore cannot accept falsehood in worship. |
John 4:24, “God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.”
Romans 12:1, “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God which is your reasonable service.” |
Day 3
By praising the Lord, you will enter into the center of His will for your life. Praising the Lord is the secret place, (Psalm 91:1) and repeating His spoken Word. The one who humbles himself in praising the Lord will be anointed above his brethren, he shall feel and walk like a king, spiritually speaking the ground will sing under him and a cloud of love shall engulf him.

Elements of prayer of faith, Praise.
Remember the song, “Peace in the Valley.” |
Psalm 150:1-6;
Isaiah 45:1-12 Hebrews 13:15-16 Exodus 15:20-21. |
Praise commands God’s attention, also a faithful praise attracts angels around the place.
Enter this way of praise into God’s presence, the power to move any object is at the bidding of those who have learned the secret of praise. The secret place of God is in praising the Lord and repeating his Word. By praising the Lord you will respect others and talk much less about them as the Lord delivers you in satisfaction |
Psalm 148:1-14;
Col. 3:15-17. Psalm 103: 1-5 |
Every praise must go to God alone. Prayer is fine but one should praise the Lord more often than just pray.
One must recognize His presence which is around us all the time, but we will not feel the strength of it until we enter in with true praise, opening up all of our heart, then we will be able to see Jesus as it were face to face. You will be able to hear the still small voice of the spirit in making more precise decisions. |
Psalm 103:1, “Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.”
Psalm 150:6, “Let everything that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord.” |
Day 4

Element of prayer of faith, Thanksgiving
Remember the song, “The Old rugged Cross.” |
Psalm 100:1-5;
Psalm 107:1-3 . Col. 1:10-22. |
There is nothing like showing gratitude to God, at all times and under every circumstance.
Remember who receives thanksgiving for your salvation. Who do you thank for the precious promise of the Translation that you are hoping for. When you fall into diverse temptations and even sin; who do you turn to? We turn to God for he is the Almighty God, He took the form of man to save you from sin and death, Jesus Christ is the King of glory give him all the Thanksgiving. |
Psalm 145:1-21;
1st Chron. 16:34-36 1st Thess. 5:16-18 |
When good things happen to you, when you are healed or family members or another Christian are delivered from death or danger, who do you give thanks to?
As we see what is going on in the world, the delusions and deceptions, who are you looking up to for your deliverance and protection, and who receives all the thanksgiving for it? Jesus Christ is God, so give Him the glory and Thanksgiving. Alpha and Omega, the First and the Last, He gets all the Thanksgiving. |
Col. 1:12, “Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light.”
1st Thess. 5:18, “In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” 1st Chron. 16:34, “O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good; for his mercy endureth forever.” |
Day 5
“But I am poor and needy: make haste unto me, O! God: thou art my help and my deliverer; O! Lord, make no tarrying,” (Psalm 70:5).

Elements of prayer of faith, Petition.
Remember the song, “Reach out, Touch the Lord.” |
Matt. 6:9-13;
Psalm 22:1-11. Dan. 6:7-13 1st Sam, 1:13-18. |
This is making a request of some sort from God. This is so because it signifies that we know our God is very near and that He has a listening ear and will answer. Through this we ask God for the insights, the inspiration, the love, and understanding and wisdom we need to know Him better. | Philippians 4:1-19.
Esther 5:6-8 Esther 7:1-10. |
He who prays without fervency does not pray at all. Hannah the mother of Samuel prayed and made her petition unto the Lord; she was consumed in her prayer that she was speechless and the high priest thought she was drunk. But she replied I am a woman of a sorrowful spirit, and have poured out my soul before the Lord. Be fervent in prayer when making your petition to God. | Psalm 25:7, “Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions: according to thy mercy, remember thou me for thy goodness sake, O Lord.”
Phil. 4:13, “ I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” |
Day 6
Yea, hide My words and promises in thee, and thy ear shall receive wisdom from my Spirit. For it is a hidden treasure of the Lord to find wisdom and knowledge. For out of the mouth of the Spirit cometh knowledge, and I layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous. We receive all things we desire from God by faith only, in his promises. We receive power to become sons of God if we believe in Jesus Christ. We receive when we ask and believe and act on his promises.

Elements of prayer of faith, Receiving
Remember the song, “Only Believe.” |
Matt. 21:22
Mark 11:24 James 1:5-7. 1st Sam. 2:1-9 |
We receive from God all things by grace. We neither deserve nor are able to earn it. But we must receive or access it by
faith. Study Gal. 3:14. We cannot commune with God who is a consuming fire and receive, if there is no fire in our prayer. The small demand that God makes of us in order to receive is “ASK.” |
Mark 9:29
Matt. 7:8 Heb. 12:24-29 James 4:2-3 |
Let God be true and all men be liars. God keeps his word of promise. It is written ask believing and ye shall have or receive.
Many prayers fail, of their errand because there is no faith in them. Prayers which are filled with doubt, are requests for refusal. Asking is the rule of the kingdom of God; ASK and ye shall receive, by faith if you believe. |
Matt. 21:21, “And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.”
Heb. 12:13, “ For our God is a consuming fire.” 1st Sam. 2:2, “There is none holy as the Lord: for there is none beside thee: neither is there any rock like our God.” |
Day 7
“For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord,” (Rom.8:38-39).

Joy of Assurance of answered prayer.
Remember the song, “ Blessed Assurance.” |
Jeremiah 33:3.
John 16:22- 24. John 15:1-7 |
Often Satan makes us think that God does not care about us and has forsaken us, especially when problems arise; but that is not true, God hears our prayers and answers his people. For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers, “ (1st Peter 3:12). | John 14:1-14
Mark 11:22-26 |
God always stands by his word. And he said, in Matt. 24:35, “Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.” God is ever ready to answer our prayer; according to his promises, if we act in faith. This brings joy to us when He answers our prayers. We must have confidence when we are expecting from the Lord. | Jeremiah 33:3, “Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.”
John 11:14, “If ye shall ask anything in my name, I will do it.” John 16:24, “ Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.” |
