When you think and talk about the heart, two things come to mind. Man can only look at the outward and physical presentation of a person to come up with what type of individual the person is. But God does not look at the outward appearance or presentation of a person to make his assessments. God looks at and sees at the inner factor which is the heart. The Word of God judges and examines the heart of a person. Remember John 1:1 and 14, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us,” that Word is Jesus Christ. Jesus as the Word even now searches the heart. Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it are the issues of life. The Lord answers us if our heart condemns us not. | Proverbs. 3:5-8

Heb. 4:12, tells us, “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”
The Word of God is what judges and looks into the heart. Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life. Whatever you do remember that the Lord is the judge of all flesh and He looks at the heart to see what it is made of. For Jesus said, what defiles a man is not what he eats that comes out as feces for the anus, but what comes out of a man’s heart, such as murders, evil thoughts, thefts, adulteries, fornications, false witness, blasphemies. If you fall into the snares of sin, remember God’s mercy and repent. |

Five parts of the biblical heart included;
A humble heart, “The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, thou will not despise.” A believing heart (Rom 10:10). A loving heart (1st Cor. 13:4-5. An obedient heart (Eph. 6:5-6; Psalm 100:2; Psalm 119:33-34 A pure heart. (Matt. 5:8) to be clean, blameless, unstained from guilt. This is the work that the Holy Ghost does in the life of a true believer. It involves having a singleness of heart towards God. A pure heart has no hypocrisy, no guile, no hidden motives. Marked by transparency and an uncompromising desire to please God in all things. It is both an external purity of behavior and is an internal purity of the soul. |
1 Ġwanni 3:1-24 | To have a heart for God, begins with focusing on God Almighty, finding out who He is and the Godhead. You start by making God a priority and centerpiece of your heart and life. It means allowing faith in God to flourish and living humbly before the Lord. Spend time in prayer. Spend time in God’s word, studying.
A loving heart is the truest wisdom. Love is the key to an obedient heart. When a parent obeys the Lord, the entire family reaps the reward of God’s blessings. Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in Him; and he shall bring your desires to pass. |

The sinful heart is hostile to God. It does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so.
Those controlled by sinful nature cannot please God. The faithful believer is not controlled by the sinful nature but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in him. But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death, (James 1:14-15). |

Unbelief and rejection breaks God’s heart, because He knows the consequences.
Sin living in the heart is deceitful, deals treacherously, and often comes by stealth. Give no place to the devil. For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, fornications, sexual immorality, slander, gossip and much more. Watch for your life for your enemy the devil cometh to steal, to kill and to destroy (John 10:10); if you allow him. Resist the devil and he will flee (James 4:7). |

Forgiveness heals the soul. Forgiveness reveals God’s heart. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.
Forgiveness in and from the heart in a believer is Christ working in you in manifestation of the evidence of his presence in your life. The scripture says be ye holy as your heavenly Father is Holy; Holiness goes with love and forgiveness. If you sincerely desire holiness, it must come with love and pure forgiveness, in your heart. Keep your heart with all diligence,for out of it are the issues of life, (Proverbs 4:23). |

Forgiveness comes from the heart. Before you forgive, remember that with the heart man believeth unto righteousness. This righteousness is found in Christ; so forgive like one, who has the Spirit of Christ in them. Also remember Rom. 8:9, “Now if any man has not the Spirit of Christ he is none of his.” Do and forgive like your heavenly Father would do unto you.

Sin brings death, and a separation from God. While on earth now, before a person’s physical death or the translation of the true believers occurs, is the only chance to get your sin taken care of by accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior before it is too late. All separated from God face judgment. Jesus spoke of eternal damnation, (John 5:29; Mark 3:29).
This is time to repent, because this is the day of salvation. Hidden sins drain your spiritual battery out. But true confession to God, through Jesus Christ, recharges your spiritual power house. |

If you are a believer, and you truly know the word of God and love to obey it; you will not allow sin to have dominion over you, (Rom. 6:14). Because sin makes a person a slave to the devil. That is why all true believers must resist and fight sin by total submission to the word of God.
Else if I regard sin or iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me. And it hinders the prayers of the married. That is why confession and forgiveness brings you back in line with God in divine love. Sin has consequences. Sin breaks the hedge around you and the serpent with bite or strike. Give no place to sin, and all these come from the heart. Here is wisdom Job 31:33, If I covered my transgressions as Adam, by hiding mine iniquity in my bosom, (you know God will not hear me). |

| The ways to turn your heart from evil unto God

1 Slaten 8:33-48 | Turn to God with all your heart.
Acknowledge sins committed or that you are a sinner and need Him. Repent and make supplications for all your sins. Turn from your sins, repent and be converted. God is married to the backslider; come home to the Lord with godly sorrow that leads thee to repentance. Confess the name of the Lord, for God had made Jesus both Lord and Christ, (Acts 2:36). Also in him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily, (Col. 2:9). Fear God, for he is able to destroy both soul and body in hell, (Matt. 10:28). Return to God with all your heart and with all your soul. And you will surely find mercy, remember 1st John 1:9. |

The heart after God must accept His word in totality. When you talk of accepting the word of God it means believing and obeying and acting upon every word of God.
You must both put and make Him first in every aspect of your life. Pay a visit and study the wisdom in the commandments God gave to Moses on the mount. For instance, “Thou shalt have no other gods before me.” Examine the wisdom God hid in this particular commandment. Any other thing you make a god to you, is what you made and what you begin to worship and that makes God your secondary. Who is the creator, who speaks and it comes to pass, the god you manufactured or the real Eternal God. All the commandments are for the good of all who will accept them; they are not just commandments they are God’s wisdom to the wise. Remember Galatians 5:19-21’ all these come from the heart that obeys the flesh. But Galatians 5:22-23, show you a heart that obeys the wisdom of God and live in the Holy Ghost. Jesus Christ came into the world to expand on the wisdom that he imparted through the law, commandments, status of the Old Testament such as, love your enemies, love those who despitefully use you, forgive and ye shall be forgiven. The heart after God will treasure the wisdom of God from Genesis to Revelations. |

To be after God’s heart, we have to understand what God wants from us and how he feels about us: and have faith that God does not change. Allow faith in God to flourish and humbly live before the Lord in perfect trust.
Learn to talk with God, Be obedient to the scriptures and love the body of Christ. Always allow the word of God to be rooted and grounded in your heart; and be very quick to repent of any sins or offenses or shortcomings. Your heart must experience relentless submission, soul consuming satisfaction, godly sorrow, joyful sacrifice, peace of God that passeth all understanding. This helps you know you are working in the Holy Ghost. One of the important reasons why God called David a man after His own heart is that he was always seeking the mind of God before he took any actions, always willing to do God’s will and fulfill his desires. Study 2nd Sam. 24:1-24, and meditate on verse 14. |
