World’s major events marked by the number 666

According to the Scriptures, the number 666 is the number of a man, and has a sinister significance, being associated with the Beast or the Antichrist (Revelation 13:18). Significantly, the most important events in recent history have been spaced in periods of 666 days, or multiples thereof. Beginning from the declaration of WWI over the week of July 28th to August 4th 1914, there were four of such periods:

May 31 – June 1 1916, the 1st 666 days after the declaration of WWI, the largest naval battle of WWI, the Battle of Jutland, took place. The British Grand Fleet collided with the German High Fleet off the coast of Denmark. The German Battle Fleet was driven to its home base, and was forced to remain there for the duration of the war. March 21-28, 1918, the 2nd 666 days from the declaration of WWI, in a desperate attempt to win, Germany’s greatest offensive of WWI took place. It resulted in losses so severe; the German war machine began to crumble.

January 10, 1920, the 3rd 666 days from the declaration of WWI, the League of Nations was born. Thus, this ill-starred confederation, the proud boast of those who suppose that man by himself could bring in a millennium of peace, was marked at birth by the number 666. November 10-12, 1922, the 4th 666 days from the declaration of WWI, was the opening of the disarmament conference in which the leading nations of the world solemnly pledged themselves to limit their armaments. Britain and America scrapped their ships, while Japan secretly built more, a partial fulfillment of the Bible prophecy that they shall speak lies at one table; but it shall not prosper: for yet the end shall be at the time appointed (Daniel 11:27).

WWI ended with the signing of an Armistice on November 11, 1918, at the 11th Hour, of the 11th Day, of the 11th Month, which was 11 months after Jerusalem was entered by the Allies on the 11th day of December, 1917. This alone demonstrates that events are timed!

Men thought that the end of conflicts had come. They thought Happy days were ahead; a new era in the history of the world had dawned; perhaps even the Millennium was at hand.

October 20-27, 1929, the 6th 666 Days from the Armistice, suddenly, out of the clear sky, with scarcely any warning, came the great Stock Market Crash on October 29, 1929; a day forever known as “Black Tuesday”. Billions of dollars were lost in a day. Fortunes were swept away, and in some cases, even millionaires were left penniless. The US economy went into the Great Depression. It was God’s handwriting on the wall. It was God talking to America that the philosophy of materialism which had taken the country, was of faulty foundation, and like the house built upon the sand in the Lord’s parable, must surely fall. That the Great Stock Market Crash had come exactly the 6th 666 Days from the Armistice, was a partial fulfillment of another Bible prophecy – For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape (I Thessalonians 5:3).

June 13-20, 1933 The 8th 666 Days from the Armistice, the New Deal which included a set of laws passed by both the US Congress as well as presidential executive orders, was enacted on June 13, 1933, the 8th 666 days from the Armistice. It was under President Roosevelt, who at the Democratic Convention in 1932, received 666 votes on the nominating ballot. September 27th 1940, the 12th 666 days from the Armistice, the Rome-Berlin-Tokyo Axis was announced. The three totalitarian nations bound themselves into a bloc to fight the USA if she interfered with Japan’s aggressive action in the Orient. This led to the American involvement in WWII.LJune 6, 1944, 14th 666 days from the Armistice, D-Day Cross-Channel Invasion of Europe. It was determined that Hitler could not be defeated without a cross-channel invasion. The D-Day was June 6, 1944, the 14th 666 days from the Armistice; it occurred on the 6th Hour of the 6th Day of the 6th Month of the 6th Year of the War ((1939-1940-1941-1942-1943-1944). This alone demonstrates that events are timed!

The death of the League of Nations on April 18, 1946, marks the beginning of a new series of 666-day cycles. December 3-10, 1949, 2nd 666 days after the death of the League of Nations, China fell to Communism. July 27, 1953, 4th 666 days after the demise of the League of Nations, North Korea was lost to the Communists.

March 18-25, 1957, 6th 666 Days after the demise of the League of Nations – the Common Market agreement was signed by 6 nations (Belgium, France, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, and West Germany) In Rome. The European Union (EU) replaced it in 2009. The European Union is preparing the way for the Antichrist and its confederacy. That the Common Market was created by a 6-nation signatory in Rome, and instituted at the 6th 666 days from the demise of the League of Nations are circumstances that are extremely significant.

December 7-14, 1941, Pearl Harbor attacked by the Japanese, America entered WWII August 6-14, 1945, 2nd 666 days after Pearl Harbor attack, the atomic bomb fell on Hiroshima killing and injuring an estimated 100,000 persons. Three days after that, another bomb fell on Nagasaki with the dead estimated at over 71,000. Five days later, on August 14, 1945, Japan surrendered, ending WWII. America was in the war for 2 x 666 days. April 4, 1949, 4th 666 days after the Pearl Harbor attack, NATO was formed. These are just some of the many similar cycles, some measured in years, that have appeared throughout the history of mankind, marking all significant events since the beginning of time. All the attempts of man to end wars and make men free independent of Christ will surely always fail. All this about the number 666 is interesting and perhaps has significance. We are told in Revelation 13:18, that the number of the Beast is 666, and some say the number of the Pope is 666. The Antichrist is not yet revealed and there is a possibility of embarrassing mistakes in trying to identify the Beast in this way.

The real Antichrist, however, is yet to come. When he appears, he will bring Europe under his heel in a way that will quite overshadow all previous tyrants! His number will be readily recognized by those who have the wisdom of God. And it may well be that the one who will bear that number is on the earth now, although not yet revealed. We are in a time of spiritual declension. Apostasy, the desire for material advantage and worldly reputation is gaining ascendancy everywhere, even among many of God’s chosen vessels. The spirit of compromise is prevailing. Please read I Timothy 6:11. The Church needs a fresh realization of the extreme imminence of the Bridegroom’s return.
