THERE IS A WAY OUT
In the Christian race there are battles you have to face on your own. Only you know the private battles or wars you have to fight. It is often personal and nobody understands but you and God. No matter how cornered you are by the devil, Jesus said, I will never leave you nor forsake you. God promised a way of escape. According to 1st Corinthians 10:13, “There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.”
There are different private wars people are fighting, some people are attacked by another force in the fight against the believer; this attacker that wars against you is depression. The major opponent is the devil, and he pitches his tent against you through things like, gambling, lottery, anger, sexual immorality, gossip, pornography, un-forgiveness, lies, covetousness, drugs, alcohol and other things. These personal battles are secrets in the lives of many in the church. Continuous defeat by these forces brings depression. Many feel like giving up, but there is a way out of such bondage and defeat.
Yes! There is a way out. The word of God is the way out. Let us examine Psalms 103:1-5, “Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases: Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with loving kindness and tender mercies; Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s.” This should give you some assurance that your problem has a solution. It is a team effort between you and God. Sometimes, you may need someone to go with you before God, often an intercessor or a believer who cares. Sometimes you may require a deliverance ministration to dissolve your problem, especially when demon activities are involved.
The heart of man is from where all evil originate. You must know and acknowledge what spirit controls and influences your heart, thoughts and actions. This helps you to know you have a problem and seek for solution. There are only two influences in a man’s life. The negative influence from the devil and the other influence is the positive influence from the Spirit of God. The positive influence of the Spirit of God keeps you in a place and position of calmness and trust. But the negative influence of Satan, playing with the heart of man keeps him agitated, in bondage, fear and doubt.
When the negative influence occupies your heart, you can fight it with the word of God. But when you allow the devil to resist your efforts to attain freedom and holiness, and you begin to second guess the word of God; bondage will get a hold of you. When you are in the devil’s cage of addiction, doubt, fear, bondage, hopelessness, helplessness, depression and sin; you need to look for a way out. No drugs or therapist can find you a way out because you are trapped in a spiritual dragnet. Joy and happiness are missing here. If you find yourself fighting the same negative influences of sin over and over, run to Jesus Christ the Word of God. This is because you are in bondage of the devil and do not realize it.
The only way out is the positive influence that breaks the drag net. According to John 8:36,“If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.” Only the positive influence of the Word of God can really set you free from the negative influences of the devil, who thrives in manipulating the unsuspecting Christian into bondage of sin. The devil makes such people think the way out is more sin, alcohol, anger, immorality, lies, drugs, secrecy, depression and much more as in (Galatians 5:19-21). Do you know many people are trapped by gambling and lottery playing by the devil? The new weapon of bondage is electronic (your hand set or cell phone); think it over in truth, are you out of control with your hand set? Even in church, when we are before the Lord in prayer or praise the phone goes off. You tell God wait a minute, I have a call, over and over again and it becomes a habit. This is the bondage to electronics, another god. You need a way out quickly! Reverence the Lord God, the cell phone is now an idol. If I am your God where is my honor and fear? Study Malachi 1:6.
The Son of God that can make you free is Jesus Christ, the Word of God (John 1:1-14). Only Jesus Christ can open the prison door and allow you the freedom to soar as the eagle. He can lead you through the valley of the shadow of death. When you are struggling with bondage as a Christian who lost his path from the Good Shepherd: You need to act like the lost sheep, cry out to God for help. God hears the cry of repentance. Have you cried to the Lord from your bondage in repentance? Isaiah 1:18 states, “Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red as crimson, they shall be as wool.” What an invitation to come to a place of happiness and positive influence, and God will deliver you from your secret sin.
The Lord is my Shepherd, and he is calling you to come out of bondage by hearkening to his word. The Lord said, in Jeremiah 3:14, “Turn, O backsliding children, saith the Lord; for I am married unto you-.” You can see that God is calling you out of bondage to life and happiness. Just take the first step by going down on your knees and confessing your sins and short comings to God, not to any man, guru, therapist, general overseer, religious father, pope and the like. This is a spiritual bondage and battle and only the blood of Jesus Christ can avail for you. When you confess and repent, do not forget to make the, bible the Word of God, your strength. Remember that Satan will keep trying to return you to bondage, but use this scripture, “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds. Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalted itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ,” as stated in 2nd Corinthians 10:4-5.
When you are trapped in sin or bondage–do not forget, worry is a door to doubt and sin and sickness–you must realize it is war. You have to take the Word of God, Jesus Christ and trust him to set you free and the joy of the Lord will return to your bosom. Repent, believe every Word of God and sing praises to God. Use the blood of Jesus Christ as a weapon of spiritual warfare. Find and attend a living Fellowship that preaches about sin, holiness, salvation, baptism by immersion in the name of Jesus Christ, Holy Ghost baptism, deliverance, fasting, Satan, anti-Christ, heaven, hell, the translation, Armageddon, Millennium, the white throne judgment, lake of fire, the new heaven and new earth and the Holy city, new Jerusalem.
The following is a word of admonition from Apostle Paul to all believers: Flee idolatry (1st Corinthians 10:14, b) Flee fornication (1st Corinthians 6:18) and c) Flee youthful lust (2nd Timothy 2:22). There is a trap of the devil that many people fall into and are comfortable in it. But they do not realize that it is called self-worship. It is the pit of selfishness as described in 2nd Timothy 3:1-5, “For men shall be lovers of their own selves.” They put themselves first even before God. That is why they are grouped with traitors, lovers of pleasure more than lovers of God, covetous and the like. From such the scripture say TURN AWAY, escape for your life from the grip and bondage of the devil. Selfishness is devilish, deadly and subtle. What is the way out? Jesus Christ is the way out.
If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me, Psalms 66:18. If you do not confess your sins and short comings to God and submit to deliverance when you cannot fight your private wars, you cannot find freedom in Christ Jesus. The Lord Jesus Christ is your only way out. He said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life” (John 14:6). Jesus Christ is the only way out of your secret and private war or bondage and secret sin. According to 2nd Peter 2:9, “The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust, unto the Day of Judgment to be punished: But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness.” There is a way out and Jesus is the only way out of sin and bondage. THE WAY OUT OF YOUR SECRET SIN AND BATTLE IS RETURN TO JESUS CHRIST WITH YOUR WHOLE HEART. YOU KNOW WHAT YOUR BATTLE IS NOW.
