2 അനുസരിച്ച്nd Cor. 6:14-18, every human being and more especially all who have heard the gospel; must answer to these verses of the scripture. You as a believer, can examine yourself based on these verses. It reads, “Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers.” Paul in his writing spoke pointedly against true believers going unto a binding relationship with unbelievers; as this may weaken a Christian’s resolve, commitment, honesty, integrity, standards and much more.  The Jesus said, “They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world,” (John 17:16). Paul did not say, to disassociate with the unbeliever, but not to form a binding association where your beliefs can be compromised. He made it clear by pointing to certain scenarios.

Firstly, what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? The first way to look at righteousness and unrighteousness is to find out the meaning of fellowship. Fellowship in the Christian understanding involves sharing, in beliefs, feelings, aspirations activities that center round the gospel of Jesus Christ. And the true Christian is one whose has acknowledged that he or she is a sinner. Then repents and by faith accepts the truth and outcome of Jesus Christ’s death and resurrection. That gives you the privilege of becoming righteous by the power of salvation only found in Jesus Christ and his shed blood. If you have this, then Gal. 5:21-23 begins to manifest in you. While the unrighteous, does not have or know Christ or have fallen back to the ways of the world and the manifest themselves as written in Gal. 5:19-21 and Rom. 1:17-32. As you can see when you study these scriptures you can see why righteousness and unrighteousness cannot be in fellowship.

Secondly, what communion hath light with darkness? The difference between both is clean. In darkness, your eyes no matter how wide open they are require light to function right. Between darkness and light there is no communion. They have different properties and characteristics that makes communion between them impossible with a good outcome. Communion is sharing of intimate feelings and thoughts at a spiritual or mental level. In the spiritual level we are talking about light and darkness, believer and unbeliever; they can neither commune with the body of Christ that he gave for our sickness and disease nor drink of his blood that was shed for our sins. Christ is the dividing line and light has power to overcome darkness. Jesus Christ is the light (John1:4-9): And satan is darkness. No man runs from the light except their works be darkness. Study Col.1:13-22).

Thirdly, what concord hath Christ with Belial? Christ Jesus is both the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit and the devils (know) and believe this and tremble. When you cannot believe there is one God, and you believe there are three Gods, with their own personalities then, the devils will only laugh at you because they know better.  Belial is the devil in a different outfit, satanic and unrighteous. But Christ is holy, the source of eternal life. There is no concord between Christ and Belial.

Fourthly, what hath he that believeth with an infidel? The Infidel is one who disbelieves the inspiration of the scriptures, and also the divine origin of Christianity. Whereas the believer accepts the teachings and writings of the Bible; and Jesus Christ is the source of divine inspiration, salvation and immortality. There is no relationship between the believer and an infidel. You may ask yourself are you truly a believer or an infidel?

Fifthly, what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? Idols are objects of worship and they are identified by the fact that they have mouth but cannot talk, they have eyes but cannot see, they have ears but cannot hear; they have feet but cannot walk and need to be carried. They are designed and made by man. They have no life. They are made by the imaginations of man and can be made and garnished with any materials. According to Psalm 115:8, “They that make them are like unto them; so is everyone that trusteh in them. Have you made any idol? Any idol does not come or belong in the temple of God. Because God is alive, sees, hears and answers prayers, and is in his Temple always. Remember that the believer’s body is the temple of the Holy Ghost; Christ in you the hope of glory, (Col. I: 27-28).

Finally, Paul reminds us that we are the temple of God; and not for idols. God said in 2nd Cor. 6:16-18, “—–I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing and I will receive you.” And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.” The choice is your own, to be a true believer or an infidel. To be in the light or in darkness. To be identified with the temple of God or idols. Fellowship walk in righteousness or wallow in the mare of darkness and unrighteousness. Jesus Christ is the solution to all these, for if you have Him as Lord and Savior you have everything and immortality and eternal life. Repent and be converted that you may be saved by accepting Jesus Christ as Almighty God, (Study Rev. 1:8).
