The judgment of commercial Babylon -part two
After the midnight cry 30
Meditate about these things.
Rev. 18:1-24, I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory. In verse 2, “And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and every unclean and hateful bird.” As can be seen in Babylon, a great commercial center traded on thirty delicacies (Rev. 18:12-13) these included gold, silver, pearls, slaves and souls of men, to name but a few. It was world wide like the stock market, but Babylon was the center, headquarters of world commerce. But in verse 2, the Bible tells us the true situation of what was going on in Babylon. It describes it as the habitation of devils, and every unclean and hateful bird. Some nations are already seeing the infancy of what is coming: hateful birds, very unclean, habitation of devils.
Right now all nations have been or have started drinking of the wine of the wrath of her fornication. This is yet a child’s play for now but after the sudden translation of the true believers if you are left behind, you will then understand. Many rulers or kings are already mesmerized by her; they are in the jaws of death and know it not. (Study Proverbs 7:10-23).This Babylon has all commerce going on and is connected world wide like the stock market. But her delicacies made the buyers and sellers of the earth, to wax rich. In the midst of these riches is hate, uncleanness, every foul spirit and has become the habitation of devils. Without the gospel how gross will the darkness be in Babylon. Babylon will become the chief center of demon operations after the translation; and it is also the major cause of her judgment.
The judgment of Babylon has not come yet, but in the prophetic message of the scriptures you can see God’s mercy crying out before it becomes too late. In verse 4-5,the word of God by a voice from heaven said, “Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.”
The voice from heaven continued in verse 6-7, “Reward her even as she rewarded you, and double unto her double according to her works: in the cup which she hath filled, fill to her double. How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow.”
This is part of God’s warning to everyone especially believers and the backslidden ones today before it will be in the tribulation. It says come out of her (Babylon, religious and commercial aspects of her), my people, ( if you wait until the judgment of her, after the translation is passed; God can not in judgment time call you my people. This is not, God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten Son, which is grace, for that is passed with the translation and what is left is God’s judgment. Come out that ye be not partaker of her sin and iniquities. (Part Three follows).
