The first translated saint
Week 03
“See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refuse him that spake on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from him that speaketh from heaven. Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven. And this word, yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain,” (Hebrews 12:25-27).
The first Translated saint
The Bible testified that Enoch walked with God. And again confirmed that He walked with God and was not; for God took him, (Genesis 5:22, 24). Jude:14, “And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh, with ten thousands of his saints, to execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.” Enoch walked with God; knew and saw much to be able to bring forth such prophecy.
Hebrews 11:5, “By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him (only God can translate), for before his translation, he had this testimony that he pleased God.”
Certain factors can be identified in the life and translation of Enoch. Firstly,he was a saved man, to be dear to God. Secondly, he walked with God, (remember the song, Just a closer walk with thee), and also in the cool of the day Adam and his wife heard the voice of God walking in the garden, (Genesis 3:8), also in Genesis 6:9, Noah walked with God. These men walked with God, it was not a one time event but rather an ongoing pattern for their lives. Thirdly, Enoch and these men walked by faith. Fourthly, Enoch had the testimony that he pleased God.
Hebrews 11:6, “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” How do you grade yourself in these four factors? Make your calling and election sure. The translation calls for faith, to also be able to please God. You must walk with God. They were saved and faithful. Finally, according to 1st John 3:2-3, “Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.”
