Secret of abiding in me

Secret of abiding in me

Continuing….

Our hearts should always desire this intimate relationship (abide), with God, which is only possible through and in Jesus Christ. Psalm 63:1, “O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is.” To abide we must separate ourselves from sin and the world first, and anchor on the word and promises of God, in Christ Jesus.

Luke 9:23, 25, 27; And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. For what is a man advantaged, if he gain the whole world, and lose himself, or be cast away? But I tell you of a truth, there be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the kingdom of God.

1st Cor. 15:19; If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.

James 4:4, 57, 8; Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy? Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.

1st John 2:15-17; Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

John 15:4-5, 7, 10; Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love.
