Remembering the Scriptures: Sermon by Neal Frisby | CD#1340 | 10/12/1986 AM

Time is short. It is time to get miracles. As long as you see eye to eye with me and believe the scriptures, you have a miracle in your hand.

Remembering the scriptures: In the Old Testament and the New Testament, there is a vision of the past, the present and the future—the things to come. The night is far spent. Our generation is “twilighting out.” The scriptures prophesy the way. God has chosen us to come in this hour to listen to the word. One of the reasons you are here in this hour is to listen to these words. Never in the history of the world has God anointed His word with such force and power that can drive back the lukewarm, drive back the demon powers and put to flight the imitators of Pentecost. What an hour! What a time to live in!

Jesus vindicated the Old Testament. How divine was the word he spoke through the prophets by the Spirit! He said, “I am the resurrection and the life…” (John 11: 25). No one in the universe could have said that! He will do the greatest work among the elect. He went to the Old Testament; He vindicated the Old Testament and He will vindicate our future.

He spoke about the flood and vindicated that there was a flood; no matter what scientists have said about it. He spoke about Sodom and Gomorrah and said it was destroyed. He spoke about the burning bush with Moses and the laws that were given. He spoke about Jonah being in the belly of the fish. He came to vindicate the Old Testament; Daniel and the book of Psalms, to tell us it was all true and for you to believe they were true.

“O ye fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken” (Luke 24: 25). He called them fools. Jesus’s ministry of deliverance was fulfilling right before their eyes. “This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears” (Luke 4: 21). The ministry of Jesus will be fulfilled in our age before the coming of the Lord. All the signs taking place around us for example pestilence, wars and so on are vindicated before our eyes. The unbelieving Jews fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah perfectly. Some in our day, although, they see, will not perceive it. The elect will perceive the sound thereof.

Physical eyes see; but our spiritual ears believe something is coming from the Lord. Jesus will fulfill the scriptures concerning His elect in this world. Bible prophecy—sometimes, it will look like it won’t take place—but it will swing back and take place. People said, “How will this wasteland become a nation?” Israel went back after World War 2 and became a nation, with their own flag and money. Step by step, prophecy is taking place. Use your faith; hold on to the scriptures, it will take place.

“Yea, my own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, which did eat of my bread, has lifted up his heel against me” that the scripture might be fulfilled (Psalm 41:9). Judas was part of the ministry, that the scripture must be fulfilled. His familiar friend, Judas, joined the political force of that day and betrayed Jesus. The Charismatics of today are joining politics to betray Him once again. Some of them come here on the platform. They send their resume; they come here looking for a job. They are messed up in their ways.  “I am tired of seeing these phonies.” They call themselves Pentecostals but they are worse than the Baptists of long ago. They are taking the popular route that deceives the people. Judas (as the betrayer) was not known to the apostles until Jesus revealed it. The Charismatics are joining the dead systems and political systems. You cannot! It is poison. You can vote, but do not become political. You do not mix politics and religion. You don’t go into politics to get saved; you come out of politics and get saved. Some of them will learn a lesson; they will come out and draw closer to the Lord, Judas didn’t. Stay with the word of God.

The Lord kept telling them the scriptures must be fulfilled. When a rejection of the word comes, a curse comes across the land. Where is the curse on this land? In the drugs that are all over the land, associated with the liquor. (As an example, the curse that Noah put on Ham when Noah was drunk). The great angel lit up the world and revealed all the drugs and evils of Babylon (Revelation 18: 1). The streets of this nation need prayer. The youths need prayer; they are being destroyed, because they have turned down the sound of the true word of the Lord in the land over four decades through the sound of the gospel. They are tired of hearing the gospel, so they take drugs. Don’t turn down the sound of the gospel. Drugs are destroying the youth. PRAY. There is an urgency to pray and seek the Lord.

“Heaven and earth shall pass away; but my words shall not pass away” (Luke 21: 33). We look for a new heaven and a new earth soon. There is no need for the sun and moon, really, in the holy city. We are living in revelation; every part of the scriptures will be fulfilled. We are in the last hour. This is our hour to use our spiritual ears to hear the word of the Lord. Heaven and earth will pass away.

There is Pentecostal modernism today, but there is also the original Pentecostal seed that will be caught away. They have to imitate the true Pentecost to deceive. When you listen to and believe this word, you will not be deceived. When He ties you with rope, nobody can break you off.My word will stand for ever.” Jesus said, “Search the scriptures…they are they which testify of me” (John 5: 39). Some will go to the New Testament, but He said, “The scriptures,” from Genesis and all through Malachi— the Sun of Righteousness with healing in his wings—it happened exactly (Malachi 4:2); out of your belly shall flow rivers of living water (John 7: 38). All the scriptures must be fulfilled. All the things in the books of Moses, the Psalms and the prophets will be fulfilled. Those who believe not the prophets are fools (Luke 24: 25-26). Let us believe all the scriptures and what the prophets have spoken.

There is no need to put your trust in the bible unless you believe. Organized systems do that; going in the wrong direction. They talk about the scriptures, but they do not act on them. Unless you act on the word, you won’t get salvation. All things are possible to him that acts on the scriptures. If you do not act on the scriptures, there is no salvation and there are no miracles. Those who do not believe the scriptures in the Old Testament will not believe Jesus and what He said in the New Testament. If you believe it as Jesus said and act on the word, you have salvation and miracles. The rich man requested that Lazarus should be sent to his brothers to warn them. Jesus said, they have Moses and the prophets; though, one comes back from the dead, they won’t believe (Luke 16: 27-31). Jesus raised Lazarus; did that stop them from crucifying the Lord?

Unbelief will not prevent the fulfillment of God’s word. We are dealing with a Sovereign God, not one iota of the word will be lost. He said, “I shall return again. Likewise, when He comes, we will have a translation. You must believe that. The scriptures cannot be broken. Peter, speaking about Paul’s epistles said, “As also in all his epistles speaking in them of these things; which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do the also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction” (2 Peter 3: 16). If you wait on the word of God, it will all be fulfilled.

The Lord has a quota; when that last one is converted, we are caught up. He will/can tell you how many will be translated and how many will be in the resurrection. He knows the names of each one and the ones in the graves. He knows all of us, especially the elect. Not a sparrow falls to the ground without His knowledge. Who bringeth the stars by their host and calls them all by their names (Isaiah 40 26; Psalm 147: 4). Of all the billions and trillions of stars, He calls them by their names. When He calls, they stand up. It is easy for Him to remember all who are here by name. He has a name for you (the elect) that you don’t know, a heavenly name.

They err because they do not know the scriptures (Matthew 22: 29). Modernism in the Pentecostal system will turn against the Lord. They want to do it their own way. They want to interpret the scriptures their own way. Jesus knew the scripture and acted on it. “And if any man shall take away  from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the Book of Life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book” Revelation 22: 19). This is the final warning to those who take away from the word. It is time to believe the word of God. Those who take away from the word, their part will be taken away (from the word). Don’t touch the word of God. “I believe it (the word of God) with all my heart.”

The Christian’s future is well preserved. God guards the truth. He told me to write it like that and they have it! The Angel of the Lord encampeth round about them that fear Him. They have the truth, the word of God. There is enough anointing on you listening to this cassette. Believe Him with your heart, He will give you the desires of your heart. You cannot be preserved by half-truth. Believe Jesus; I believe I am here to do something good for you. Believe the word and God will bring providence to come to pass in your life. He said, “I am coming through.” How many believe this?

He is preaching this sermon to wake you up, not to blame or condemn you. One day you will say, “Lord, why did you not holler more to get me going?” His divine love is great to those that love Him and keep His word.
