In the earlier Scripts people could hardly see how the things would come to pass. Now we’re overwhelmed -Man landing on the moon, weather patterns, society, etc. But we’re going to try to bring out a point for a certain reason. We’re going to show how wrong people can be and also give a double significance of what the Bible and Scripts said. These men were smart, some geniuses, but way off. The world later would be astonished and amazed. We can see how wrong even the best minds missed prophecy. We will quote from a magazine here.
Men and their opinions – “Who the h — wants to hear actors talk?” – H.M. Warner, Warner Brothers, 1927. Since then his company has polluted the world by movies, TV and satellite, etc. Rev. 13:13, “And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down…”
“This ‘telephone’ has too many shortcomings to be seriously considered as a means of communication. The device is inherently of no value to us.”- Western Union internal memo, 1876. Job 38:35, “Canst thou send lightnings, that they may go, and say unto thee, here we are?”
“My personal desire would be to prohibit entirely the use of alternating currents (the basis of today’s electrical systems). They are (as) unnecessary as they are dangerous.”— Thomas A. Edison, North American Review, 1889. And now look at the cities that are lit, plus the homes, etc!
“The (atomic) bomb will never go off, and I speak as an expert in explosives.” Admiral William Leahy to President Truman in 1945. Indeed he was deceived! It occurred. Rev. 18:8-10, Joel Chapter 2.
“Airplanes are interesting toys but of no military value.” — French Marshal Ferdinand Foch, Professor of Strategy, Ecole Superieure De Guerre, date unknown. Rev. 18:8, planes dropped bombs. Rev. 9, sting like scorpions-laser beams (now we’re ahead).
“That Professor Goddard…does not know the relation of action to reaction, and of the need to have something better than a vacuum against which to react- to say that would be absurd. Of course he only seems to lack the knowledge ladled out daily in high schools.” — 1921 New York Times editorial about Robert Goddard’s revolutionary rocket work. The rocket came to pass. Isa. 14:29, “a fiery flying serpent.” Also Isa.60: 8, “Who are these that fly as a cloud, and as the doves to their windows?” “Heavier-than-air flying machines are impossible.” —Lord Kelvin, Royal Society, 1895. Obadiah 1:4, “Though thou exalt thyself as the eagle, and though thou set thy nest among the stars, thence will I bring thee down, Saith the Lord.”
“But what is it good for?” — Engineer at IBM’s advanced computing systems division, commenting on the microchip, 1968. Now we have the Internet, etc. Rev 13 is part of it.
“I think there is a world market for maybe five computers.” —Thomas Watson, chairman of IBM, 1943. Look how far off indeed they were.
“Drill for oil? You mean drill into the ground to try and find oil? You’re crazy.” —Driller, Edwin L. Drake tried to recruit for his projects to drill for oil in 1859. —See how people are off!
In Deut 33:24, said Ashur shall dip his feet in oil. A pipeline runs through the area.
“The wireless music box has no imaginable commercial value. Who would pay for a message sent to nobody in particular?” —David Sarnoff’s associates in response to his urging for investment in the radio in the 1920’s. Eccl. 10:20, “…for a bird of the air shall carry the voice, and that which hath wings shall tell the matter.”
“Louis Pasteur’s theory of germs is ridiculous fiction.” —Pierre Pachet, Professor of Physiology at Toulouse University, 1872. Louis Pasteur was right, and from that discovery man moved forth in medicine. Dan. 12:4, “And knowledge shall be increased.” And from that time on they understood viruses, bacteria, etc.
Mark Twain and others said Israel would never be in their homeland or become a nation but did! Some said Christ would not come, and He did. And He will a second time!
Edison invented the movies and said it was a great waste of time. —But others made millions. —A.C. Clark was told it could not be done, but he invented the satellite. Now many will see Jesus’ return. Rev. Chapter 1 and Rev. Chapter 19.
Peter wrote in II Pet. 3:3 there would be scoffers in the last days, where’s the sign of his coming? — And we know they’ll be wrong again, that He will return. –
Acts 1:11; this same Jesus will come again. Read 1Thess. 4:15 -17 also.
Events fulfilling – earth changes – Things that changed our earth: “France – Parisian’s have waded through the wettest 12 month period since the 19th century. Minnesota – The Mississippi River reached nearly 27 feet at St. Paul on April 30. This was more than 9 feet above flood stage and the third-highest level ever recorded. Sudan – An estimated 3 million people face famine due to rivers drying up in late March, well before the annual dry season normally begins. Many Sudanese have been forced to subsist on one meal a day, according to the United Nations.”
A catastrophic volcano erupted in the Philippines hurling chucks of rock as big as cars and is still erupting – not seen in decades! Also over the world there are over 200 volcanoes either becoming active or can be. —Also a calamity in Peru – a massive super quake hit (8.2 on the richter scale) leaving over 10,000 homeless. – Great famine in Afghanistan and Northern China, extreme pestilence and new viruses.
Society fulfilling prophecy — Terrible days! — Father sets 2 year old on fire and watches him burn. — Policeman shoots his wife and children, then himself. Woman in Houston, Texas drowned her five children. (Without natural affection, II Tim. 3:3) People think there is no hope, but Jesus is trying to tell them that He is the way. It is a time of madness! — 35,000 children are fighting wars in places like Africa, etc. Instead of going to regular school they are learning to fight.
Celestial movements — Omens We’ve just been through the rarest planetary changes. We trust to write more later of the constellations shewing forth-unique informative signs, events, world drama and things to come.
