The good fight

The good fightThe good fight

Glory to the Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth. In the tract titled “The Last Adam,” I promised to speak about the good fight if God permits. And by the grace of God, I will talk about it in this tract.

Life is a fight as we all know. Everyone is involved in the fight of life. Regardless of your religious affiliation, you are in a fight in this life. That’s how it is and we have no choice. The fight of life is an obligatory fight for everyone. And one day this fight will end. At the end of the fight of life, God will need the winners, not the losers.

Do you even know that life is a fight ? Do you know that sooner or later you will leave this life? Do you know that you must leave this life as a winner? This is very important, since you will need it in life after this one.

In 1st Corinthians 9 :26 it is written : « I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air ». This means that someone can do the fight of life badly by beating the air.

Brother Paul tells us about the good fight in 2nd Timothy 4:7-8, he says “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. »

According to what we have just read in 2nd Timothy 4:7-8, the good fight is the fight of faith and that consists of keeping the faith. What faith? Faith in what? Faith in whom? Faith that comes from the word of God according to Romans 10:17, “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”

To fight the good fight is to keep the faith, it is to keep the Word of Jesus, it is to put the Word of God into practice whatever the situation. And it is thanks to this that Jesus also will keep us safe and sound for the day of his coming. Revelation 3:10, “Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.”

Only those who have true faith have the chance to fight the good fight. True faith is faith in Jesus Christ alone. And it is this faith that Jesus will come to seek on earth. Luke 18:8 states, “… when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?” Jesus is coming again very soon to give a crown of righteousness to all who love his appearing. All who love the coming of Jesus are fighting the good fight. That is to say, they keep the faith they have in Jesus, they persevere until the end and they obtain the crown of Righteousness or the crown of life.

It is written in Revelation 2:10, “… be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.” Also Jesus says in Revelation 3:11, “Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.”

Jude 1:3, “Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints” .

Hebrews 10:35-39, “Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward. For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise. For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry. Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him. But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul”.

May the Lord Jesus help us to fight the good fight for eternal life. Amen!
