Seek Those Things which are above

“If ye, then, be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God,” (Col.3:1). This is a beautiful scripture of hope, faith, love, and inspiration. It says seek those things which are above. You are on the earth, but it says what you are doing, seeking, acting has a result and that is an expectation of things above. It is not just above in the sky but actually in heavenly places where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. This is not on earth and needs to attract our sincere attention and faithfulness.
Those things we are admonished to seek, which are above are futuristic. It is where our treasure is supposed to be. Those “things” above are treasures, and they are made up of the promises and rewards of God, depending on how we yield to the Lord on the earth. On earth we accept, (believe and confess) the finished work of the Cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, to inherit eternal life. But those things above include:

Rev 2:7 – To him that overcometh, will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God. This is presently above, and we should seek those things which are above- Amen.
Rev. 2:11 – He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death. The guarantor of this promise is above; so seek those things which are above – Amen. The systems of the earth are deceitful, be wise: Learn to believe and accept all the word of the Bible and avoid trusting in man, read Jer. 17:9-10. Escaping the second death is especially important otherwise one will end in the lake of fire. Read Rev. 20 to see the magnitude of the issue.

Rev. 2:17 – To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna and will give him a white stone and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it. Where are these promises? Seek those things which are above, amen. There fulfillment involves the heavens.
“In My Father’s House are Many Mansions: If it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.” (John 14:2). These are in the dimension of heaven not earth; set your affections on the things guaranteed in heaven. That is why you seek those things that are above in the heavens.

Rev. 2:26 – He that overcometh and keepth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations, and he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father. Where is the power and rod of iron guaranteed? Above, – seek those things which are above, amen. To rule with Jesus Christ, you need to seek and work the works of the Lord, while we are still on earth and the translation has not occurred. Seek to participate in this promise which is still above where our treasures and rewards are with the Lord: “So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.” Rev. 3:16. Seek for things above.
Rev. 3:5- “He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.” Mark 8:38-Whosoever will be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels. The book of life is in heaven, seek those things which are above. If a person’s name is not in the book of life he or she will end in the lake of fire, study not just read Rev. 20.

Rev. 3:12- Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God and I will write upon him My new name. This is above, the New Jerusalem which cometh down from heaven. So, seek those things which are above where Jesus Christ sitteth, in heavenly places.
Rev. 3: 21- To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame and am set down with my Father in his throne. This throne is above; seek those things which are above where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For you are dead and your life is hid with Christ in God.
John 14: 1-3 “I will come again and receive you unto myself, that where I am there ye may be also. “And behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be,” (Rev. 22:12).

Rev. 21:7, “He that overcometh shall inherit all things, and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.” This is the capstone of it all. He will be your God and you shall be God’s son. This is one great reason to seek those things which are above.
These are promises that cannot fail in the Bank of God’s promises in heaven. Why do you think this earth is the last stopping place for man? Think again, there is a hell and there is a heaven. Is your name in the Lamb’s book of life? Time is short, He is on his way- Seek those things which are above. Remember, without having salvation you cannot seek those things which are above. Don’t forget, “for God so loved the world, that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life,” (John 3:16).  Believe the gospel now before it is too late to seek those things which are above where Christ sitteth.
