THE PROPHET AND THE LION
TRANSLATION ALERT 33
The Prophet And The Lion | Neal Frisby’s Sermon CD# 804 | 09/28/80 AM
Whatever you want, that is what you are going to get. What you plant in the ground will come up. What you plant in your heart will grow with you. If you begin to joy, then you will joy in the Lord. If you begin to get melancholic, backward and negative, that will grow too. It will take you downward, but the other will lift you up. Remember that what you plant in your heart is what you are going to be. If you want joy, it is right in front of you. The blessings of the Lord wouldn’t mean much to you if there weren’t some tests. Then you begin to appreciate what the Lord has given you. Sometimes, the Lord will bless and help you, and you are not very appreciative of the Lord’s blessings neither do you thank Him as you should. Pretty soon, a test comes, then, you say, “Thanks to you Jesus, now I appreciate what you have done for me. I have seen this many times. The people forget to thank the Lord for just daily breathing the air. So far, it’s not toxic enough to kill us. He has kept us alive. Can you say Praise the Lord?
The Lord is talking to His people. As long as there is faith, He will talk. This morning, this message will be a good advice in wisdom and knowledge to anyone. It has perhaps happened in your life from the time you became a Christian; maybe, you have listened to the wrong voices or listened to the wrong spirit, even influential people and so forth. The Lord had this story in the bible for a definite reason. When I was working on some of the scrolls, I came upon this story which I have read many times before. This story is in the bible and there is a great lesson here, one that you wouldn’t want to forget and one that I would like to keep on a cassette or in a book. No matter how it comes out, you’d want this. Listen to it not only for me, but for you, from the simplest Christian to the rich Christian or the poor Christian, whatever you want to call it; it makes no difference. This advice is for all of us and I want you to listen to it real close.
The Lion and the Prophet: Of course, it is God in the lion and the prophet. Turn with me to 1st Kings 13, it gives us a wonderful illustration. This is a strange story. It absolutely makes sense and has great significance for the church today. It is a lesson on obedience to the voice of God and His word. It tells you to do exactly as Jesus tells you to do. When He speaks, be sure of it and obey the word of the Lord. Also, you want to listen to these messages that the Lord has given. If you listen to the messages, they will mean something to you. The people of the last day’s message should watch because some preachers who look right will deceive. The bible said it will almost deceive the very elect. A lot of influential preachers—many times, not knowing that they are headed in the wrong path—and a lot of Christians that have high positions are headed in the wrong path. So, the people of God, the sons of God need to listen to this and learn. There is a lot of advice in this true story of God.
“And, behold, there came a man of God out of Judah by the word of the Lord unto Bethel: and Jeroboam stood by the altar to burn incense” (v. 1). You see; he started well with the word of the Lord. It is not how you start, it is how you finish. This prophet/man of God started off really well. Not even the king could change him. He was with God. He started off with God, but he did not finish with God in that form. So, we are listening to this today, so that you will not fall into the snare of satan. The main thing is this: satan can come through an angel of light, through another prophet; he can come through another minister, anyway that he wants to or through another Christian. That is what this message is about, listen to it. So, the man of God started out by the word of the Lord. “Jeroboam stood by the altar to burn incense”—that was the Jeroboam that broke away and built the golden calf.
“And he cried against the altar in the word of the Lord, and said, O altar, altar, thus saith the Lord; Behold, a child shall be born unto the house of David, Josiah by name; and upon thee shall he offer the priests of the high places that burn incense upon thee, and men’s bones shall be burnt upon thee” (v. 2). Now, in this chapter, the Lord wanted to reveal many times the word of the Lord and that the Lord was with the prophet. This is not about our story today, but it is a prophecy from that man of God/prophet and you can find out that the prophecy came to pass. Josiah became king many years later (2 Kings 22 & 23).
“And he gave a sign…. And it came to pass when king Jeroboam heard the saying of the man of God…he put forth his hand from the altar, saying, Lay hold on him. And his hand, which he put forth against him, dried up, so that he could not pull it in again” (vs. 4 & 5). Jeroboam listened to him and heard what he said. Jeroboam was all stirred up and wanted to lay hold on the man of God and as soon as he wanted to lay hold, the bible says that his hand dried up (v. 4). It just dried up like that. It’s like the church today. When they begin to go into idols and become lukewarm, everything just dries up like that, if God doesn’t come and revive it.
“And the king answered and said unto the man of God, entreat now the face of the Lord thy God, and pray for me that my hand may be restored me again. And the man of God besought the Lord, and the king’s hand was restored him again, and became as it was before” (v. 6). The king asked the man of God to pray. He prayed and the king’s hand was restored and became as it was before. That’s the five ministerial gifts coming to life. God healed the king’s hand. Nevertheless, it was dried up when he came against the word of the Lord. If only that man of God had stayed in line. Jeroboam must have heard what happened to this man of God. He (Jeroboam) went back to his old ways. He must have thought, “This prophet pulled some tricks on me.” You see; satan is cunning.
“And the king said unto the man of God, Come home with me and refresh thyself, and I will give thee a reward… And the man of God said to the king, if thou wilt give me half thine house, I will not go in with thee…. For so was it charged me by the word of the Lord, saying, Eat no bread, nor drink water, nor turn again by the same way that thou camest…. So he went another way, and returned not by the way that he came to Bethel” (vs. 7 – 10). God had told him something else and not even the king could persuade him. Why? Because God said so. God was still with him here. So, he went another way, not the way he came to Bethel. He was still with God and the Lord was with him. He turned the king down. Later, he stopped instead of continuing with God. Don’t stop for anybody. The key in this story is to continue with God. Don’t turn around for some kind of false doctrine. Don’t turn to the right or the left for somebody because it looks like they’ve got something that looks like the word of the Lord. You stay with the word of the Lord and you will never fail. A lot of people know that some of these things are wrong, but they just go on until finally they wake up and they have departed from the faith totally. It can come very cunningly at the end of the age. The reason why this is being preached is that toward the end of the age, so many things are going to come upon the people—deceivableness and strong delusion will set in before the end of the age. There are many voices in the world, but there is only one Voice that God calls His people by and they know His Voice.
“Now there was an old prophet in Bethel; and his sons came and told him all the works that the man of God had done that day in Bethel: the words which he had spoken unto the king, them they told also to their father” (v. 11). Here is where the trouble comes in. Another prophet; you see him. Art thou the man of God that came from Judah? And he said, I am….Then he said unto him, Come home with me, and eat bread…. And he said, I may not return with thee, nor go in with thee…. For it was said to me by the word of the Lord, Thou shalt eat no bread nor drink water there, nor turn again to go by the way thou camest” (vs. 14 – 17). He was sitting under the oak tree. He was sitting there still strong with God. But here comes someone else to him now. He should have stayed with what God spoke to him in the first place. He should have told that guy what he told the king, “I wouldn’t do it for the king or anybody.” The man of God said, “I may not return with thee…neither will I eat bread or drink water with thee in this place” (v. 16). Now in many places in the bible, the Lord allowed the prophets to stay with people and eat and drink with them. For example Elijah stayed with the widow woman. Sometimes, David and so forth; they mixed and mingled. But this time, God said, “Don’t do it.” He said, “Don’t turn aside for anyone.” The story is kind of mysterious on the account of the lion, the way it was there (v. 24). Another thing is that the Lord knew the time that the lion would cross. The Lord knew that if the guy had gone straight through without stopping, the lion would have passed on, on his hunting trip and the man of God would have missed him. God has reasons for telling you something and warning you. Also, another part of the lion; that lion is a mysterious lion like the Lion of the Tribe of Judah.
He said, “I may not return…neither will I eat bread…” (v. 16). I am not trying to tell the audience not to eat with somebody that has invited you. Don’t put any such interpretation or doctrine on this. This is one time that God said not to do it this way and this is the way that He wanted it. Can you say, Amen? God is a good God. He has fellowship and the Lord is a wonderful God. But this time, he gave the order. I don’t care; if the Lord says, “Climb that mountain 25 times” and He is there, then, climb the mountain 25 times. Don’t go up there 10 times and quit. Go and do what God said. He told Naaman to go into the river 7 times. If he had gone 5 times, he would not have been healed. That great general went in the river 7 times and he was healed. You do what God says and you get what God’s got. Amen, that’s exactly right.
“He said unto him, I am a prophet also as thou art; and an angel spake unto me by the word of the Lord, saying, Bring him back with thee into thine house that he may eat bread and drink water. But he lied to him” (v. 18). No doubt the man (the old prophet) had been a prophet. The old prophet did not tell the man of God the truth and God allowed it in order to speak through him. He said that an angel spoke to him. This old prophet said, “I am a prophet too.” See that significance there? See that influence there? Some Christian will say, “I am a Christian, just as deep as you are.” But if they don’t have the word, it is all talk. Can you say, Amen? God has spoken first and the Lord has told him (the man of God) what to do, and that should end it right there. When God in the bible tells you to do something, do it. Don’t listen to other voices. That is what the whole story is all about here. The bible said it this way in Revelation 2: 29, “He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.” The Spirit does not tell the people two different things. The bible says in 1st Corinthians 14: 10, “There are, it may be, so many voices in the world, and none of them is without signification.” In other words, the good Voice of the Lord and the bad voice. There are many voices and every one of them has a job and a duty to do whether they are a lying spirit away from God or the true Spirit of the Lord. They are all out there. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches. It goes on; the old prophet said, “I am a prophet too and I have an angel with me too.”
“So he went back with him, and did eat bread in his house and drank water” (v. 19). The king could not persuade him but a religious spirit did. At the end of the age, the great ecumenism and all the great world systems will come together mingling the word of God in there and using the word of God to deceive into a false religion. They will say, “We have our prophets too. We have our wonder workers too. We have all these things.” But it will go into a magic trick like when Moses confronted Jannes and Jambres in Egypt (2 Timothy 3: 8). Pharaoh said, “We’ve got our priests and power too.” But the whole thing was from a wrong voice. Moses had the true voice. The voice of the Lord was him in the sighs and wonders and they were from the Lord. So the king could not turn him (the man of God) back. He was on his way. Today, many of the people of God will not turn aside for any worldly spirit or anybody that has a false doctrine. They will not turn aside for any of the cults or any of the systems that are not in Pentecost. But right in Pentecost and around where the true gospel is, some of those other Christians can persuade them in the wrong direction if they don’t listen to what God has first told them in the bible. He is not going to tell you something different through somebody else. Believe me, believe the word of God. Listen to the voice of God: it is from Christians to other Christians that are not around it in the word of God that there is a misleading. So, you listen to the word of the Lord, you will receive your healing and you will receive miracles from God. He will prosper, He will guide, He will take you out of your problems and He will lead you. But if you listen to the wrong voices and get away from God in a different dimension/direction, then, of course, you have fixed/messed yourself up. The Lord will stay with you closer than your own shadow if you listen to what He’s got to say, Amen. The king couldn’t turn him (the man of God) away, but this other prophet did because he claimed that an angel spoke to him. This will happen at the end of the age to those that will not listen to the word of the Lord. We have the Balaam doctrine and the Nicolaitanes doctrine mentioned in the book of Revelation coming at the end of the age. “…But he lied unto him” (v. 18). He (old prophet) said, “An angel spoke to me.” He said, “I am a prophet.” But the bible said he lied to him.
“And it came to pass, as they sat at the table, that the word of the Lord came unto the prophet that brought him back” (v. 20). Now, here is the guy (the old prophet) that told him (the man of God) a pointblank lie. Here comes the Spirit of God on the old prophet because the man of God disobeyed the Lord. The Lord is going to fix the man of God by the old prophet. God knows what he is doing.
“And he cried unto the man of God that came from Judah, saying, Thus saith the Lord, Forasmuch as thou hast disobeyed the mouth of the Lord, and hast not kept the commandment which the Lord commanded thee, But camest back, and hast eaten bread and drunk water…thy carcase shall not come to the sepulchre of thy fathers. And it came to pass, after he had eaten bread…that he saddled for him the ass to wit, for the prophet whom he had brought back. And when he was gone, a lion met him by the way, and slew him: and his carcase was cast in the way, and the ass stood by it, the lion also stood by the carcase” (vs. 21-24). A lion met him by the way. Here is a strange thing: lions generally slay and eat. This lion has only done the duty that God told him to do. It could be the Lion of the Tribe of Judah because it just stood there and the ass was not scared of the lion. Have you ever seen an ass sit with the lion in the jungle? Neither one of them moved. The lion stood there and the ass stood there. The man was dead; the lion did not eat the man. He did what God told him to do. The man of God had not obeyed the Lord. Yet, God changed the course of nature, the lion did not eat the man; he just killed him and stood there. Isn’t that a wonderful illustration? God wanted people to see the lion standing there and also that the ass was not scared (v. 25).
“And when the prophet that brought him back from the way heard thereof, he said, It is the man of God, who was disobedient unto the word of the Lord: therefore the Lord hath delivered him unto the lion…” (v. 26). The old prophet said it was the man of God who was disobedient to the word. The old prophet told the man of God all those things and he listened to him rather than staying with the word of God. Let me tell you; listen to God’s word. No matter how many influential Christians are surround you, never deviate from the word of God. Always believe in the simplicity of the gospel. Believe in the faith and the power of the Lord and in the word of the Lord to resurrect and translate us. Believe it with all your heart and go on with God. Can you say, Amen? The Lord is showing you something. He comes very simple and powerful. Nevertheless, the Lord has His way in the wind. He comes in power and He comes with fire. Listen to Him. He will not mislead you, but He will guide you. As the Bright and Morning Star, He has plenty of light to guide you by. The old prophet said that the man of God was disobedient to the word of the Lord. Today, you turn by the wayside, you go away from the Lord and listen to some of these voices; you are going to be met by a lion and he will strike you down. Let me tell you something, you are on dangerous ground.
“And he went and found his carcase cast in the way, and the ass and the lion standing by the carcase: the lion had not eaten the carcase, not torn the ass” (v. 28). Here is a great situation: there is a great lion, just standing there and an ass is standing there too. The old prophet arrived and there was a great lion standing there. The man was dead; he was not eaten and the ass was still there. God would have prepared all that or the lion would have devoured the man and the ass. But this is strange. Was that a lion by the birth of nature that God commanded to do that or was it symbolic of satanic forces that attacked the man? Being that God had spoken through the old prophet (vs. 20 -22) and all these things had happened, it could definitely be the Lion of the Tribe of Judah who only judged the man of God, but did not eat the ass. If it had been satan in the lion, he would have chewed the man of God into pieces and gotten a hold of the ass and eaten it. Nevertheless, no matter what about the lion, it was symbolic of God’s judgment to somebody that had seen great things from God, but then, would listen to other voices. You must stay right with the word of God. I have always listened to what God told me. People may have a lot of good ideas; it would do them no good because I will listen to the word of the Lord. I have always been that way. I stay alone and I listen to God. People have wisdom and knowledge, I realize that, but I know one thing; when God talks to me, I am going to listen to how He says I should do it.
They took up the body of the man of God and buried him (vs. 29 & 30). And the old prophet said because the man of God had done great things for the Lord before this happened, I want you to bury me beside him and beside his bones (vs. 31 & 32). He still respected the man of God. He knew that the man of God had made a mistake and had been misled. That is the story right there.
Jeroboam did not return from his evil ways after this thing (vs. 33 & 34). Jeroboam went right back to his idols. Now, you say, “Why do people do that?” Why do people do the things they do today? Here was the king, his hand dried up. The man of God spoke and the hand was well again. And yet, Jeroboam turned away from the voice of the living God and went back to his idols, to the false cults and false religion, and God just wiped him off the face of the earth. You see; he had listened to the voices of the priest and to everything but God’s voice, so God gave Jeroboam up. When He gave him up, he would believe anything but God. And when God gives them up, they will believe anything and everything, but they will never believe God. Can you say, Amen? And so, he that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
In any time in the history of the world, this is the time for the sons of God to listen to the voice of God as never before. There is not much chance left because other voices are coming by the multitude. With the computers, you’ve got other voices out there; it is a demonic voice, a deadly voice and you can hear all the things you want to hear. But you can’t hear the voice of God and everything that God has got (on the computer) very often. Hold true, the bible is a valuable tool to have for all those that want to listen to the word of God. Do not listen to anything but the word of God, saith the Lord. Do not be influenced by anything but the word of God, saith the Lord. There; it is right there, He is speaking through the story of God, the man of God and the lion. Many people pass over some jewels in the bible. The man of God, he never really had a name. God wouldn’t give the man a name. But He did give a name to the young king that would come many years later (2 Kings 22 & 23). He gave a name to Jeroboam, the king. He gave those names, but the man of God did not have a name.
In the same way, Saul went astray. He listened to the wrong voice and David restored the people to God. But even a king like David, with the power of God and the Angel of God with him, stepped aside from the Lord in numbering the people and in the matter of Bathsheba. Although, the matter of Bathsheba worked out in the purpose of God finally. But just look; it just takes a moment even with that great king. So you people in the audience, consider yourselves without the great faith of that king. Even Moses, the prophet of God, listened to himself and smote the Rock twice. We see in the bible, it just takes a moment for old satan to knock you out. The best thing to do is to put on the whole armor of God. “Forget about all the voices and listen to my voice,” saith the Lord. He has only one voice. “My sheep know my voice and I lead them. Another cannot lead them. They cannot be deceived. I will hold them in my hand. I will guide them unto the final time and then I will take them away.” Oh, praise God!
I tell you; these messages are what nurture you and keep you from going into those tests and trials. It is not that God cannot bring you out and help you, but why go through those things when He has forewarned and told you what is coming? This is prophetic. This is speaking of the witchcraft, the magical tricks, the signs and wonders at the end of the age and all the voices that will come through electronics, the computer and every other way. As the age closes out, many voices will rise, spellbinders that we have never seen in the history of the world. Yet, God will do great exploits among those that listen to these messages and will not turn aside for anyone, but will stay close to the word of God. He will bless His people.
The old prophet said that the man of God was disobedient to the word of God (1 Kings 13: 26). The old prophet was still alive—God did not speak to him to say what he said—but the man of God, God had given him too much light. He (the man of God) had gone there, prophesied and done great miracles. He spoke about Josiah coming and what he said came to pass. Right in front of his eyes, he saw Jeroboam’s hand dry up. He stood right there, prayed the prayer of faith and saw the hand restored to normal. The prophet was able to hear the voice of God; too much was given to him and he turned right back around. When the king of the world could not stop him, then a prophet, who was supposed to have been with God at one time, got the trick done. I can see the political horse, that great demonic religious horse that has death written on it, I can see it coming in here and it is going to take those political and religious spirits and demon powers. It is going to ride out there and take some of those people that are supposed to be fundamentalists and Pentecostals and it is going to get them into its grasp, and some of them are going to flee into the wilderness. Can you see God talking? It is better to stay with the true foundation, the revelation of the Lord and the word of God exactly as God teaches it here, and not to get off into things with which we are not supposed to get involved and those things that are coming upon the world.
So, you will see great influential speakers. You will see great men that have great revivals in this nation. You will hear those voices say, “An angel spoke to me, God spoke to me.” Well, He probably did a long time ago. Let me tell you something; those voices are there and they will be swept into the Roman system. Revelation 17 will tell you the whole story of what is going to happen. So, we see here; the influence of the old prophet made the man of God to perish. When one can’t get you, the other will try to get you. Keep your eyes open today and in the age in which you are living. Today, just because the real noted preachers that God had called in a great way listened to great businessmen, great theologians and great educators where all the money and finances are—they listened to the golden calf out there—some of them have been swayed and they are working within ecumenism. As they listen to that, God has less and less to say each day and the system is having more and more to say until the Lord is not going to say anything at all to all of them. They are just going to go their own way. It will be a betrayal like that of Judas Iscariot.
You know, the garden of Eden, God’s voice was there in the cool of the day. The Lord spoke to Adam and Eve, they heard His voice. They disobeyed His voice pointblank; when they did, the fellowship was broken and they were cast out of the garden. They did not get to hear that voice during the day as they had heard it before. See; communication was broken off. They had ignored the voice of God for the serpent which was religious, which understood the word of God and twisted it up. They listened to a seemingly more influential personality that even looked more influential than God. They said, “Wisdom is in this personality here and the way that he talked.” Eve said that the influence of this thing, it was something of great influence and she fell by the wayside. It was so influential that Adam went along too. God is the most influential voice the world will ever hear. Satan is very cunning in his tricks. When men don’t listen to God, He allows them to hear the voice of satan and because they won’t listen to God, He will make the voice of satan sound like the real thing. But the Lord is the only influential voice in the world.
“Because they will not listen to me, I will allow strong delusion to come upon them to listen to the voice of untruth and unrighteousness,” saith the Lord. There is a voice of truth and there is a voice of leadership and power. And then, there is a voice that leads into unbelief and disregard for the word of God. We are getting into the age of the Laodiceans who listened to every kind of a voice except God’s voice. They once had God’s voice but they apostatized. They became lukewarm and God spewed them out of His mouth (Revelation 3: 16). But the children of the Lord, like Abraham, will stay out of Sodom. They will get out of the situations of the world and all those kinds of churches. Abraham listened and heard the voice of God. As for the Laodiceans, because they are disobedient to the prophets that have come to them and have apostatized, they will meet God at Armageddon. The Lion of the Tribe of Judah will destroy them. So, God is my influence. The Holy Spirit is your influence; the word of God is with Him and with you if you believe that with all your heart. So, we see here with the story of the lion, God and the prophet, the lion is just standing there. He has done his duty well. If it was a lion of nature, it had only done what God told it to do. In fact, it obeyed the Lord more than the man of God. He didn’t go any further than to kill the man of God and stand there.
There are, it may be, so many voices in the world and none of them is without signification (1Corinthians 14: 10). God speaks directly to the prophet—He is not to be interrupted—and the prophet listens to what God says. He will not listen to other voices or else he will go down. The apostle is the same way. The true Christians, the ones that love God, no matter how many influential friends they have, if they see that a person is not in the proper place with God, they will not listen to those friends either. This way, they (true Christians) will be as the prophet and the apostle. In this sense, they should listen to what God has said by inspiration and the power of God to them, and if you do these things, you will never go wrong. Oh, what a statement in there! Oh, saith the Lord, “but how many will do it?” And the Lord saith this to thee, “It is how you finish with me that will count in the long run when you stand before me. Many, today, have started the race off well, but they are not running anymore” saith the Lord. “Oh, run ye for the prize! Receive ye the high calling. And that is by listening to the voice of the Shepherd that will cry to His sheep and will lead them. Listen to my voice; it will match my word, for my voice and my word are the same thing. Oh, my Son and I are the same Spirit. You will not go wrong,” saith the Lord. Glory! Alleluia!
People lose their healing and people lose their salvation simply because somebody just turned them aside. Hold to that word and the promise. Stay right with it like Daniel the prophet. Satan tried to do the same thing to Jesus; he said, “Create this, jump off this from here and prove something.” Jesus knew that voice; it wasn’t the right voice. Jesus said, “It is written, I’ll follow the word of God exactly as it has been written.” Jesus knew that if He followed what He had written, He would be at the cross at the right hour. And just at the right hour that afternoon, He said, “Father, forgive them for they know not what they do.” Then He said, “It is finished.” It was clocked to the split second, right at the moment that He was to say that, the eclipse in the heaven came up on the earth, and the earth rattled with lightning and there was blackness on the earth. He said, “It is written;” not “It will be finished” and that meant that it will not be changed. Every word that Jesus was to speak to His people was written in the heart of God.
The key in everything that we see here is that the man of God stopped by the wayside. The key to the lesson is that when God calls you or God is talking to you, you go and stay with God. Continue with the word of God. Jesus said that those that continue in his word are his disciples indeed; not those that continue partly or discontinue, but those that continue with my word. So, the man of God did not continue with what God had told him. The moment that he stopped, that ended it with God. Such a lesson in the bible! And again, the Lord said, “He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.” In other words, at the end of the age, influential people will rise and different people will have a change of heart and go in the wrong direction. “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord and stay with God,” Joshua said. The old prophet was an angel of light, but his credentials were fantastic. He said, “I am a prophet and an angel spoke to me.” There he was, influencing the man of God. We see today that the same thing is happening in the same hour in which we are living. Be careful.
How many of you can see this lesson today? What God is showing us here is this: I don’t care what kind of record or credentials they have (influencers), you want to continue with what God told you to do. Today, others will come up with something and it will be as that old prophet was to the man of God—an angel of light. At the end of the age, as it is in the New Testament, the bible said that angel of light will even come (2nd Corinthians 11: 14). He will almost deceive the very elect. But I tell you one thing, he won’t deceive them. God will hold on to His own. This is a prophetic message that will run clear on to the end of the age. In the book of Revelation there are the three frogs—those are false spirits that will go all over the earth working wonders and signs, not the true signs and wonders that we know today. They will lead the people on to the battle of Armageddon. Those are the voices that are let loose in the nations. And when God translates His people, then you talk about some voices and wolves among the people like you’ve never seen before. The moral of the whole story that we have here is: always listen to what God says and don’t be influenced by anybody, but listen to what God says. His sheep know His voice.
Here is another thing: “But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets” (Revelation 10: 7). That is the voice of Christ. It has a sound to it. When He begins to move and stir, He will drive satan out of the way. It (the voice) will separate, it will burn and it will make a Christian what they ought to be—to have faith and power and to do exploits. The mystery of God should be finished. He said, “Don’t write it”–(v. 4)—“I am going to perform wonders upon this earth like they have never seen before.” Satan doesn’t know anything about it but it is going to sweep the bride into heaven and bring judgment during the great tribulation and clear on to Armageddon. Now remember this; it says in the day of voices? It says “voice.” That’s what it says here. When He shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished as he has declared to His servants, the prophets. In the age we are living in, the elect will listen to one voice in the thunders, the Lord’s voice.
Time is short. There will be a quick short work at the end of the age. There are too many voices without signification, but we want to listen to the voice of the Shepherd, the voice of the sheep and the voice of the power of God. If you do these things, the Lord said, you shall never go wrong. But if you are disobedient, you will be met by the lion. Put your hand on God as the age closes out and the angel of light begins to deceive the people in all the nations with convincing power and strong delusion (Revelation 13; 2 Thessalonians 2: 9-11). Listen to this message. Prepare in your heart to stay with the word of God. Hold right to the word of God. Then the Lord will bless you. The Lord will give you greater faith and He will honor you. Listen to what the Spirit saith unto the churches. The Lord will bless your heart and He will lift you up. How many of you can say, Praise the Lord?
The Lord wanted this message to come. Somebody may say, “I am okay now. I am listening to the word of God. I am doing what God says.” But you don’t know what you will be doing in a month or a year from now. But the word of this message will continue and it goes overseas to many countries to help those people. There are many voices closing in on them. But I want them to know that they should listen to this word of God. They’ll find that it matches the word of God. The word will carry them no matter how many demon powers, voodoo or witchcraft rise up in those nations. They (the elect) will have the power and the mantle of God. He will give them a light and a path. He will guide His people. He will not leave them alone. And so, let this message be for each day until we see the Lord in the translation and forget it not. It must be very important because He Himself told me and had me bring it to His people.
If you are new here today, what voice are you listening to? If you are backslidden today, God is married to the backslider and he will most certainly help you. But if you are listening to other voices, then you can expect God to do nothing for you. If you are listening to the voice of God and you believe in your heart, salvation is yours.
