WEEK 2

Prayer reminds you of your situation; that you can’t help yourself but to trust and lean on the Lord Jesus Christ totally: and that is faith. His word and not your works is the power of faith and prayer of faith. Pray without ceasing, (1st Thess. 5:17).

Who Jesus Christ Is? Isaiah 43:10-13, 25. God to Moses was the I AM THAT I AM ( Exd.3:14).

God told Isaiah that “I, even I, am the Lord, and beside Me there is no Savior.”(Isaiah 43:11).

John the Baptist said, “Behold, the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world,” (John 1:29).

John 1: 23-36 The prophet John the Baptist said, this person coming after me is preferred before me for he was before me, (He made John) whose shoe’s latchet, I am not worthy to unloose.

Who is this that John was not worthy to untie the latchet of his shoe. That is the eternal one, Jesus Christ.

John 1:1 and 14, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God”

“.— And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, full of grace and truth.” John 1:14

Why you need Jesus the Christ? Róòmù. 3: 19-26 The word of God makes it clear that we are sinners and cannot save or deliver ourselves hence man needed a Savior not only from fear that Adam confessed in Gen. 3:10, but also from death through sin. Róòmù. 6: 11-23 James 1:14 – Every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. Rom. 3:23, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”

Rom. 6: 23, “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. “

Why do you need Jesus Christ? John 3: 1-8 Man died when he sinned in the garden of Eden and lost his perfect relationship with God. Man turned away from God into a religion as you see today with denominationalism, Believing in Jesus Christ is a relationship that starts with being born again. This involves repentance from sin and conversion to truth; that sets you free from the law of sin and death through Jesus Christ, only. Samisi 16: 15-18 The world is lonely without Jesus Christ, that is why he gave us the most rewarding and lucrative job both on earth and in heaven.

Once you are saved you become a citizen of heaven and your job description is in front of you.

Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. That is a fantastic job and he gave power to do the job; these signs shall follow them that believe in this new employment from heaven.

Johannu 3:3 “Lóòótọ́, lóòótọ́ ni mo wí fún ọ, bí kò ṣe pé a tún ènìyàn bí, kò lè rí ìjọba Ọlọ́run.”

Mark 16: 16, “He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.”

John 3:18, “He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.”

Why do you need Jesus the Christ? Róòmù. 10: 4-13

Psalm 22: 22

Heb. 2: 11

Jesus Christ is the righteousness of God. Our righteousness through salvation is by being born again as we accept the blood of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of our confessed sin; getting converted from our wicked ways and obeying and following the word of God. Col 1: 12-17 We are born to love, worship and serve the Lord; for all things were created by him and for him. We were redeemed by his blood and delivered from the power of darkness and translated into the kingdom of his dear son. We become citizens of heaven. Here we are strangers on earth. Col. 1:14, “In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sin.”

Rom. 10:10, “Nitori aiya li enia fi gbagbọ si ododo; ẹnu sì ni a fi ń jẹ́wọ́ sí ìgbàlà.”

Why do we need Jesus Christ? 1 Jòhánù 1:5-10 Salvation and the price for sin to meet God’s demand and forgiveness is found only in Jesus Christ and no other name. Jesus Christ is the name of God as found in John 5:43. Jesus said I am come in my Father’s name. “Think about that for a minute.” Awọn iṣẹ 4: 10-12 If you are faithful to acknowledge your sins and confess them: Jesus Christ is also faithful to forgive all your sins and cleanse you with his blood.

The choice is yours, confess your sins and be washed in his blood or keep in and die in your sins.

1st John 1:8, “If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.”

Rom. 3:4, “Yea let God be true, but every man a liar.”

Why do we need Jesus Christ? Phil.2: 5-12 God put an awsome power and authority in the name “Jesus.” Without that name there is no salvation. The name Jesus is a legal tender both on earth, heaven and beneath the earth. Mark 4:41, “what manner of man is this, that even the wind and sea obey him.” What a NAME. Rom. 6: 16-20 All power is in the name of Jesus Christ.

Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ; Acts. 2:36.

Jesus Christ is One God, One Lord, Eph. 4:1-6.

“Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name.”

Phil. 2 :10, “That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in the earth, and things under the earth.”

Why do we need the name Jesus? Johannu 11: 1-44 There is no future tense with God, all things are past tense to him. Lazarus was dead and Martha and Mary knew of the last day’s resurrection in hope. But Jesus said, I am the resurrection and the life. Though he were dead yet shall he live: Believest thou this ? Awọn iṣẹ 3: 1-10 The power of Jesus at work in people’s lives confirms who he is either on earth or from heaven. He answers prayer and is both compassionate and faithful to those who believe in him.He is no respecter of persons.

We need Jesus Christ to teach us how to pray, the only way to communicate with God.

Johannu 11:25 “Emi ni ajinde, ati iye: eniti o ba gbagbo ninu mi, bi o tile ti ku, yio si yè.

Acts 3: 6, “Silver and Gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.”
