“and beside Me there is no Savior”

God spoke to Isaiah the prophet saying, “I, even I, am the Lord; and beside me there is no Savior,” (Isaiah 43:11). In Luke 2:8-11, God announced to mankind what was happening, when He God appeared as the angel of the Lord. Now, see this work and secret of God, “And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch (many were sleeping but some were awake watching- the midnight hour) over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord (Jesus Christ) shone round about them; and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, “Fear not: for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord.” Remember that, “And beside me there is no Savior.” Strange as it may seem, God is the angel of the Lord, and the angel of the Lord (God himself) was the one announcing to the shepherds who were watching; that this day in the city of David a Savior is born, (there is only one Savior) which is Christ the Lord. God was announcing his own birth as Son of man: as in Matt. 1:23, “Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a Son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.” He arrived at his own birth in the city of David, (God hid himself as a baby, Remember to study Luke 2:25-30, ‘Lord, now let thy servant depart in peace according to thy Word.’ Simeon carried the baby and called the baby Lord.)

He was born to die and save all who will believe, “And she shall bring forth a Son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.” There is no Savior beside me saith the Lord. Only Jesus Christ can save. Acts 2:36, “Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified both Lord and Christ.”

He was born to die for our sins; He was born to go to the whipping post, for by his stripes we are healed. He was born to give eternal life to whosoever will repent and be converted, in his holy name Jesus Christ. He was born to deliver us from sin, hell and the lake of fire. He was born to reconcile all that will believe in the gospel of Jesus Christ (Mark 1:1). He was born to give us the name of authority (Jesus Christ – John 5:43) for all transactions, as children of God; including warfare against satan and demons: and the name to which all knees must bow of all that are in heaven, in the earth and beneath the earth. He was born for several more reason, but above all, He was born to show us love and forgiveness and to give us who believe; of his immortality, eternal life.

When a sinner is saved there is joy in heaven. It confirms the main reason why Jesus Christ was born; to save the lost, (evangelism shows you believe and are willing to work for why God was born as man, (Jesus Christ). In heaven angels rejoice when a person is saved and it is like saying, Happy Birthday to Jesus Christ, for that his birth was not in vain. Isaiah 43:11 confirms that if you are saved you are a witness to the saving power of God and a confirmation that, the Lord He is God. He declared it and he saved you.

As a Christian, when you are born again (taking on the life of Jesus Christ): ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. We take on the life of Christ, which is one other reason why he was born. And when Christ, who is our life shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory; fulfilling another reason why he was born, (Colossians 3:3-4). In Philippians 2:6-8, “Who being in the form of God thought it not robbery to be equal with God: but made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men. And been found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient unto death, even the death of the Cross.” He was born to die as to reconcile every believer to himself. We the believers who understand should be grateful, for the Christmas season and always to say thank you Lord Jesus Christ and Happy Birthday. It is his birthday not yours or any other person. Some do not, celebrate or recognize the Christmas for several reasons: but we cannot deny the obvious; that Jesus Christ was born and lived died and rose again in the flesh as man.

Christmas has been commercialized; and giving of gifts one to another, but that is wrong. The most precious gift you can give to the Lord is found in Romans 12:1-2, “I beseech you therefore, brethren that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”

Truly, Christmas which is celebrated as the birthday of Jesus Christ, (the date may be different, but the reason for his birth is undisputable), happened in the city of David, as the angel of the Lord said. But it can be looked at in a different way today. The city of David is your heart; and the Savior was born; he was born to show us the Way, the Truth, the Life and the Door. He died on the Cross of Calvary to pay the ransom for our sins. And rose again from the dead, seen of men and returned to heaven: and that person is God in the form of Jesus Christ the Lord. He is alive for evermore and dwelleth in eternity.

When he was born angels were involved and prophecies of his birth came to pass, (Isaiah 7:14 and 9:6). He was born in a manger, when there was no room for his birth in the inn. They gave him a stinking sheep pen for a maternity place. Do you have a room in the Inn of your heart for JESUS. What wicked way to welcome a baby and the Savior, among animals, (But that was the Lamb of God on his journey to the Cross of Calvary). He came unnoticed and promised to come again unnoticed: John 14:1-3; Acts 1:11, 1st Thess. 4: 13-18 en 1st Corinth. 15:50-58. Remember it is his birthday not yours. Let us wish Our Lord Jesus Christ a wonderful, Happy Birthday this season. This may be the last Christmas before the Translation, no one knows, so make it count. Make peace with God while you still have time; tomorrow may be too late. Repent of your sins and be converted, baptized and filled with the Holy Spirit, (Acts 2:38). Give him the gift of yourself, (Rom.12:1-2).
