SEDMICA #16

A preacher once said, “Jesus Christ was not crucified in a cathedral between two candles but on a cross between two thieves. He was crucified at the kind of place where cynics talk smut, where thieves curse and where soldiers gamble and mock. Because that is where Christ died and since that is what He died about, that is where Christians canbest share his message of love because that is what real Christianity is all about.”

We have made an errand-boy out of God. We forget he is the real General Overseer. We busy ourselves telling God to do all the nice things which we ought to do; visit the sick, needy, poor etc; provide for them, encourage the ones in prison, to speak to the sinners. We want the Lord to do all of these things while we pray to Him. So convenient for the Christian. But the truth is that God can only do those things through us if we are willing. When you step out to do it, it is the Holy Spirit in you doing the preaching, you are only a body through which evangelism is achieved. Salvation is personal. Christ must live in us personally.

Colossians 1:26-27, “Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints: To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory: Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus.”

Jesus Christ the ultimate soul winner

Mark 1: 22-39

Luke 4: 16-30

Matt. 4: 1-25

Matej 6: 1-16

In these scriptures, you will see as Jesus Christ started his ministry on the earth; by making reference to the scriptures, (Luke 4:18). He always referenced the Old Testament, Psalm and the prophets. He always pointed to the scriptures and used parables to deliver his teachings, which brought the need for repentance in many lives. The only way to get to a sinner’s heart is by the words of the holy scriptures, (Heb. 4:12, “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” The Word of God is Jesus Christ. Remember John 1:1-14, the word. Jesus began his soul winning or evangelism by using the word of God, and is also an example to us, how to win souls by the preaching of the true word of God.

He taught and witnessed the gospel of heaven with love, power and compassion.

Matt. 5: 1-48

Matej 6: 17-34

Matej 7: 1-27

In the preachings of Jesus Christ, he gave hope to the hopeless. He helped the people identify sin, showed and explained the power of forgiveness.

He taught the people about prayer and lived himself a prayerful life. He preached about fasting, giving and practiced them.

He explained the consequences and judgment for sin as he preached about hell. He preached about so many things that if a person listens, believes and acts upon them, he will be saved and hope for heaven.

He preached one on one in many cases and was very personal like Zacheus, the woman with the issue of blood, the blind Bartimaeus and many more.

He always showed compassion. When he fed thousands of people at a time, it was after they had listened to him for 3 days with no food. He had compassion on them. He healed several times all that came for healing, and cast out many demons. Remember, the man that had legions possessing him.

Matt. 6:15, “But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive you.”

The Nicodemus

Noću

Remember the song, “It is no secret.”

John 3: 1-21

Eph. 2: 1-22

Soul winning had its foundation in the words of Jesus Christ to Nicodemus. When he came to Jesus by night, and said to Jesus, no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him. He was a Rabbi, and religious, but knew something was different about Jesus and his teaching.

Jesus in response to Nicodemus said, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

But Nicodemus was confused and asked Jesus, can a man enter his mother’s womb, and be born, when he is old?

Jesus made it plain by saying to hiM; Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

To be born again, one has to acknowledge that they are a sinner, find out where the solution to sin is; that is the Cross of Calvary on which Jesus was crucified. Then for the forgiveness of sin, by the blood Jesus shed on the Cross, to make an atonement for you ; you have to confess your sins and acknowledge that the blood of Jesus was shed for the forgiveness of your sin. Accept it and be converted from your evil ways by the truth of the scriptures.

Mark 1: 40-45

Luke 19: 1-10

Rom. 1: 1-32

The leper here came to Jesus beseeching him and kneeling down to him begging him to make him clean. As a leper he could not mix with the society and often carried a bell to alert any around them that a leper was near as to avoid contact. Imagine what humiliation he faced and no future. But he knew that only Jesus could change things and heal him. The bible testified that Jesus was moved with saosećanje. And touched him, saying unto him be thou clean and the leprosy departed from him immediately. Jesus charged him to keep the matter quiet and say nothing about it but the happy man could not help himself but for joy published or testified and to blaze abroad the matter of his healing. Jovan 3:3, „Zaista, zaista, kažem ti, ako se ko ne rodi nanovo, ne može videti kraljevstvo Božije.”

John 3:5, “Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.”

The Samaritan woman at the well

Setite se pesme "Amazing Grace".

John 4: 7-24

Heb. 7: 1-28

The ultimate soul winner, our Lord Jesus Christ, started a conversation with the Samaritan woman at the well; as to give him an opportunity to witness by tapping into the woman’s capability. She came to fetch water and had all the tools to get the water. But Jesus said in verse 7, “Give me to drink,” and that made the woman respond, and Jesus began his soul winning or evangelism. Jesus spoke to her, like no other man, and manifested the gift of knowledge about some aspects of her life; that in verse 19, the woman said, “Sir I perceive that thou art a prophet.”

Jesus expounded unto her the scripture.

She believed Jesus to be the Christ the messiah that she knew and had been taught to come. And Jesus confirmed it to her by saying, “I that speak unto thee am he.” What a visitation she had. Forget not your hour of visitation. She repented and got converted; and became a soul winner immediately.

John 4: 25-42

Heb. 5: 1-14

The woman abandoned her water pot right there , full of joy, the spirit of God had gotten hold of her by the preaching of Jesus Christ. (Mark 16:15-16 was the commission to all believers, like the woman at the well, we are supposed to go and witness to others what Jesus Had done for us.

She went into the city and said to the men, “Come see a man, which told me all things that ever I did: is not this the Christ. She was persuaded, and left her water pot to go witness. The Samaritans came and listened to Jesus for themselves. And many believed because of his preaching of the word.

They said unto the woman, after listening to Jesus, “Now we believe, not because of thy saying: for we have heard him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Savior of the world.”

Remember, that Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

John 4:14, “But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.”

The Impotent man at the pool

Zapamtite pjesmu "Samo vjerujte".

John 5: 1-21

1st Sam. 3:1-21

The Lord walked the streets and corners of Jerusalem; and during one occassion he came by Bethesda where there was a pool. The miraculous happens when An angel came to stir or troubled the water of the pool at a certain season. Whosoever then first enters the pool after the angel had finished was made whole of whatsoever disease he had.

This attracted many people needing help such as impotent folks, blind, halt, withered, and more. But only one person can be healed. Whoever enters the water first.

Jesus came to the pool and saw a man lie, and had an infirmity thirty and eight years. Jesus started his soul winning by getting the man’s attention; when He said, “Wilt thou be made whole? That is, do you want to be healed? The impotent man narrated his ordeal, that nobody could help him into the pool first; others went ahead and skipped over him all these years. But this man did not give up but continued to come with the hope that one day it will happen. But 38 years was a long time. But lastly, the divine plan of God made it, that Jesus Christ, whom the angel worked for and who created the angel came to the pool himself. And asked the man wilt thou be made whole? Jesus said, unto him you do not need to get into the pool, one greater than the angel and the pool is here; Rise, take up thy bed, and walk. And immediately, he was made whole and took up his bed and walked after 38 years.

John 5: 22-47

1st Sam. 4:1-22

This miracle took place on the sabbath day, and the Jew when they saw and heard of it were offended and persecuted and sought to slayJesus.

These Jews were with this impotent man for 38 years and could do nothing for him, not even holding others back for him to get into the pool at the stirring of the angel. And now Jesus had done what they could not do; and they could not see the mercy of God on the impotent man but were consumed about the sabbath that they persecuted Jesus and wanted to slay him. Human nature is very dangerous and never seeing from God’s lens.

Later Jesus found this man and said unto him, “Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more lest a worse thing come unto thee.” Who wants to willfully sin again after this deliverance from 38 years of bondage in the captivity of Satan.

John 5:23, “That all men should honor the Son, even as they honor the Father. He that honoreth not the Son honoreth not the Father which hath sent him.”

John 5:39, “Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.”

And as soon as he had spoken, immediately the leprosy departed from him and he was cleansed.”

The man born blind

Remember the song, “Oh, How I love Jesus.”

John 9: 1-20

Psalm 51: 1-19

Isaiah 1: 12-20

Not every person that has a disability or sickness is a result of sin. As Jesus said in John 9:3, “Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.” This was a man that was born blind; and is now a man and not a baby. The blind man was there hearing what Jesus said; that was Jesus giving him hope and faith to believe against all scientific teachings and demonic assumptions in such cases. The Lord anointed his eyes with his own spit on the ground and made a clay of the spittle for the anointing. And asked him to go to the pool of Siloam (sent) and was his eyes. He went and washed his eyes and came seeing.

People said, isn’t he that begged? Others said that he is like him: But he said, “I am he.” He started his own soul winning, saying, “He who did this miracle for me is no sinner, He is a prophet.”

John 9: 21-41

Akti 9: 1-31

The Jews did not believe he had been blind until they called the parents and asked them. When they did, the parents said, “We know that this is our son, and that he was born blind. But by what means he now seeth, we know not; or who hath opened his eyes, we know not: he is of age; ask him: he shall speak for himself.” That was an answer of wisdom and truth.

He was an adult and cannot deny his God given testimony.

He had his challenges and discouragements from the people but that strengthened him. He began to preach to the people in verse 30-33; (Study his preaching and you will see what conversion brings into a person, boldness, truth and determination).

John 9:4, “I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.”

Izaija 1:18, “Hajde sada, da se zajedno raspravimo, govori Gospod: ako grijesi vaši budu kao grimiz, bit će bijeli kao snijeg; iako budu crveni kao grimiz, bit će kao vuna.”

(Dost thou believe on the Son of God? He answered and said, Who is , Lord, that I might believe on him?)

And Jesus said to him,

Matt.15:32, The Jesus called his disciples unto him, and said, “I have compassion on the multitude, because they continue with me now three days, and have nothing to eat: and I will not send them away fasting, lest they faint in the way.” And they that did eat were four thousand men, beside women and children.

The feeding of the four and five thousand

And the woman of Canaan.

Remember the song, “Pass Me Not.”

John 6: 1-15

Matt. 15: 29-39

After Jesus had worked many miracles on them that were diseased; a great multitude followed. He went up the mountain with his disciples and the great multitude came along.

These multitudes heard him and saw the miracles, and Jesus got the disciples to get the multitude to sit down in groups on the grass and their number was about five thousand men, not including women and children. They needed to be fed, for they had followed Jesus for a long time and many must be hungry and weak. The disciples had no food, and Jesus asked Philip saying, “Whence shall we buy bread that these may eat?” Then Andrew said,There was a boy with five barley loaves, and two small fishes. That was Jesus actually asked the disciple to sit down the multitudes.

Jesus took the five loaves; and when He had given thanks, he distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to them that were set down; and likewise of the fishes as much as they would. After feeding them, the fragments gathered filled 12 baskets. This was a great miracle. But remember, Matt.4:4, “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.”

Matt. 15: 22-28

Psalam 23: 1-6

The Woman in need of the childrens’ bread

A woman from Canaan came to Jesus and cried unto him saying,”Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou Son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil.”

Jesus said not a word to her: but his disciples besought him, saying, send her away; for she crieth after us.

Jesus said unto them, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

Then came the woman and worshiped him, saying, Lord, help me. (Remember 1st Cor. 12:3). But Jesus said, It is not meet to take the children’s bread, and to cast it to dogs.

She replied saying, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table. Jesus was all along growing her faith, until she spoke faith. Without faith it is impossible to please God. Jesus said, O woman, great is thy vjera: be it unto thee, even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.

Rom. 10:17, “So then faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God.”

1st Cor. 12:3, “ No man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.”

Heb. 11:6, „Ali bez vjere je nemoguće ugoditi mu; jer onaj koji dolazi k Bogu mora vjerovati da jeste, i da nagrađuje one koji ga marljivo traže.”

Matt. 27:51-53, “And behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent; And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose, And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.”

The raising of the dead

Remember the song, “I shall know Him.”

John 11: 1-23

Ist Thess. 4: 13-18

Martha, Mary and Lazarus were two sisters and a brother that Jesus loved and they also loved him. But one day Lazarus was very sick and they sent a message to Jesus that, “he whom thou lovest is sick.” Jesus said, to his disciples, “This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby.” Jesus stayed where he was for two more days, and then decided to go to Judea again. And told his disciples, “Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep.” They thought he was taking a nap and it was good for him. But Jesus confirmed to them, Lazarus is dead. I am glad for your sakes that I was not there, to the intent ye may believe; nevertheless let us go unto him.

This was new to the disciples, what is He going to do now? They had no idea, for in verse 16, Thomas said unto his fellow disciples, let us also go, that we may die with him. When they arrived Lazarus had been in the grave four days already.

All hope was gone, after four days in the grave, maybe decay had set in.

When he had spoken to Martha and Mary and saw Mary and the Jews crying, he groaned in the spirit, and was troubled and Jesus wept. At the graveside Jesus lifted up his eyes and prayed to the Father and after he cried with a loud voice, “Lazarus come forth.” And he that was dead came forth bound hand and foot with grave clothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin, And Jesus said unto them, Loose him, and let him go. And many of the Jews which came to Mary, and had seen the things which Jesus did, believed in Him. Real soul winning by the Lord Jesus Christ.

John 11: 22-45

1st Cor. 15:50-58

Many Jews came to comfort the family. Martha, when she heard that Jesus was near the vicinity of their home, went out to meet him. And said, If thou hadst been here, my brother had not died; But I know, that even now, whatsoever thou wilt ask of God, God will give it thee. (Martha did not have the total revelation that God was the one she was talking to and that there is no other God beside Jesus the Christ).

Jesus, God himself said unto her, “Thy brother shall rise again.” Martha answered and said, “I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection on the last day, (Rev. 20). How religious we get sometimes without the proper revelation. Jesus, said unto her, “I am the resurrection and the life: he that believeth in Me though he were dead yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in Me shall never die. Believest thou this?” Remember 1st Thess. 4:16-17. The dead and the living are changed together. Resurrection and the life.

John 11:25, “I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead yet shall he live.”

John 11:26, “And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?”
